Below Deck: What Happened To Fired Bosun Chandler Brooks After Season 6

Chandler Brooks made quite the impression on fans during Below Deck season 6, but he has stayed out of the spotlight since. During his time on the show, Chandler was the bosun for Captain Lee Rosbach for the first nine episodes of season 6. At first, Chandler thought his time on the My Seanna would be a great opportunity, but it turned out to be one of the worst. His deck team, which included season 7’s bosun Ashton Pienaar, Rhylee Gerber, and Ross Inia, were fed up with Chandler and his lack of leadership.

The team’s issues with Chandler were brought to Captain Lee multiple times, and the captain eventually realized Chandler wasn’t a good fit for the crew. Lee decided to fire him and promoted Ross from lead deckhand to bosun. However, Chandler was relieved when Captain Lee let him go. He felt overwhelmed by his job with the My Seanna crew. Chandler didn’t even show up to the season 6 reunion, which took place several months after season 6 was filmed.

After Chandler was fired from Valor while in Tahiti, he continued to work in the yachting industry once he left. While his Instagram is currently private, Chandler has a little anchor in his biography, indicating that he still works in the industry. However, his girlfriend, Jamie Jason, from Below Deck Med season 3, keeps Chandler fans up to date on what he’s doing on Jamie’s Instagram. Jamie and the former bosun began dating shortly after they both appeared in their respective seasons in 2019. The deckhand often shares cute photos of the couple when they are together. The two are often apart due to the demanding work life of a yachtie. In fact, many fans thought the pair broke up after she deleted every single post off her Instagram in 2020.

Jamie confirmed that she and Chandler were still going strong, but their relationship was temporarily long-distance. Besides Chandler’s solid relationship, he recently came up in the news again, following Below Deck season 6’s Caroline Bedol’s Reddit Q&A. She revealed that the bosun was only fired because he informed production that he was planning to quit. While no further evidence back’s Caroline’s claim, this could explain why Chandler fell off the earth following his stint on the show. It was also revealed last year that Chandler’s father, Bruce Brooks, was involved in the sizzle reel of the show over 10 years ago. Below Deck’s season 1 chief stew Adrienne Gang, who also took part in the reel, shared a photo of the crew who filmed the reel to commemorate the special day.

After Chandler was let go by Captain Lee, who isn’t leaving Below Deck, he has been doing well since appearing on the Bravo series. Not only is he in a loving relationship with a fellow yachtie, but he’s also thriving in the industry. It seems quitting the show worked out perfectly for Chandler.
