The final charter of Below Deck’s season eight came to an abrupt end due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The season itself wasn’t any shorter with 17 total episodes, making it longer than all but two previous seasons. With the charter season ending early, many travel restrictions still in place, and no announcement from Bravo yet about season nine, Captain Lee Rosbach has a lot of free time to fill, but he seems to be keeping busy.

Captain Lee is the only cast member to have been on every season of the Below Deck. Nicknamed “the stud of the sea,” he is a favorite character who fans can’t get enough of. His passion for yachting started in his mid-30s. Now in his early 70s, he is still in love with yachting and shows no signs of planning to retire any time soon.

While there may not be more episodes of Below Deck for a while, Captain Lee has not disappeared from TV. He has made the talk-show rounds, appearing on The Kelly Clarkson Show, Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen, and The Ellen Degeneres Show. He also has his blog, called Captains Log, which he has been updating as episodes of Below Deck have aired. While his website has options to hire Captain Lee for appearances at company gatherings or events, this has also presumably fallen by the wayside during the pandemic. Luckily he can afford to take some time off as he has a net worth that is estimated to be somewhere between $800,000 to $1,000,000.

One person who might not mind having Captain Lee at home more often is his wife, Mary Anne. They often spend time apart while Captain Lee is off on his charters, but they have made their marriage last. The couple met when she was working as his chief stew. The two will be celebrating their 46th wedding anniversary in 2021. They had five children, though their son Josh tragically died of an overdose in 2019. Their children are grown and Captain Lee and Mary Anne now get to enjoy their grandchildren. Captain Lee and his wife have settled in Fort Lauderdale, not too far from the water. Captain Lee loves yachting and has earned the respect of many of the crew members that have worked under him. He may have to take it easy until COVID-19 restrictions are lifted. He shared a picture on his Instagram of him getting his first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, so whenever Bravo is able to begin production again, he’ll be ready.
