Since Rhylee Gerber left season 7 of Below Deck, she has been busy living and working in her home state of Alaska. The last time fans saw Rhylee, she was working on Valor in Thailand as a deckhand alongside Captain Lee, Kate Chastain, Ashton Pienaar, and more. Rhylee and Aston got along the first time they worked together in season 6 on the My Seanna superyacht, however, their working relationship changed when she arrived mid-season during season 7.

Rhylee always felt like it was her against the rest of the deck team. She tried her best to keep the peace, but her fiery personality always got in the way. Rhylee was constantly fighting with at least one person in the deck crew, usually Aston. Even by the end of the season, she and Aston were never able to make amends. When it came time for the reunion, Rhylee explained how she didn’t feel like her crew valued her on board and how she was frustrated with them the entire season.

Som what has Rhylee been up to since she left season 7? Well, after her season wrapped, Rhylee went back to her life in Alaska. She continued to work on fishing boats in Alaska, which was her career before joining Below Deck. Her job seems to be going out to sea, doing some fishing, reeling in the large sea creatures, and taking them to shore. Judging by Rhylee‘s Instagram, the job does not seem easy and it obviously takes quite a bit of strength to do on a daily basis. In April 2020, shortly after the COVID-19 pandemic hit, Rhylee decided to move into a van and travel across the United States. Since moving into her van, Rhylee has traveled to places such as Montana, California, and Florida.

Along for the adventure across the USA was Rhylee’s 14-year-old dog, Dolce. Unfortunately, in July, Dolce was unable to fight off a tumor that was growing inside of her, and Rhylee had to lay her to rest. She wrote in a lengthy Instagram caption, “Laid to rest my sweet girl yesterday afternoon. I cannot begin to express how broken my heart is or how thankful I am to have had such a gift by my side for the last fourteen years. I’ve truly lost the best part of me.” Several of her Below Deck castmates sent their condolences in the comment section, including chief stew Kate Chastain, Joao Franco from Below Deck Mediterranean, and even Captain Sandy Yawn.

Now that Rhylee is no longer on Below Deck, she has been using her time away from the show to travel across the country. Who knows? Maybe in a future season, Rhylee will return as a deckhand. Hopefully, there are no harsh feelings between her and Captian Lee.
