A small detail in the official Better Call Saul season 6 trailer confirms that Nacho’s worst nightmare is coming true. The series has seen Nacho Varga—a key figure in the Salamanca crime organization played by Michael Mando—left in a dire predicament. It now appears that this will lead to the outcome he feared the most.

Nacho is one of the main characters in Better Call Saul, and a prominent player in the series since season 1. Starting out as an enforcer for Tuco Salamanca (Raymond Cruz), Nacho has attempted to work his way out of a criminal lifestyle while simultaneously being caught in the middle of the ongoing feud between Gus Fring (Giancarlo Esposito) and the Salamancas. This all comes to a head when he arranges to have Lalo Salamanca (Tony Dalton) killed on the behest of Gus’ orders.

A key goal of Nacho in Better Call Saul is to ensure his father, Manuel, does not get roped into his criminal activities. This is a primary reason why he betrayed the Salamancas and caused Hector’s stroke, as the latter intended to use Manuel’s automobile upholstery shop, A-Z Fine Upholstery, as a front for his business. After Gus’ assassination attempt on Lalo fails, Nacho’s cover is finally blown, making him a target for the historically ruthless Salamancas. And as Better Call Saul season 6’s trailer proves, that makes his father a target as well.

In Better Call Saul season 6’s trailer, Nacho is seen in several precarious situations by himself alone. A huge indicator from the trailer that Manuel will be caught in the crossfire of Nacho’s criminal dealings is when the Cousins—Leonel and Marco Salamanca—are shown walking by Jalisco, where A-Z Fine Upholstery is located, with their guns in hand. What’s most telling about the worst possible outcome occurring is that right after this shot, it cuts to a scene of Nacho in grief, which heavily implies that if Manuel encounters the Cousins, it will end in his demise.

Out of all the characters whose fates remain uncertain by the time Breaking Bad arrives, Better Call Saul‘s Nacho’s predicament is by far the grimmest. Even if he does survive, it is likely going to come at the cost of everything he holds dear, which sadly applies to Manuel. One way or another, a tragic ending for Nacho in Better Call Saul appears to be the likeliest outcome as of now.

Better Call Saul season 6 premieres on Monday, April 18 at 9 p.m. on AMC and AMC+.
