After 12 seasons, fans of The Big Bang Theory are left with hundreds of episodes, creepy pickup lines from Howard, idiosyncrasies from Sheldon, and plenty of memes to get us through dark days without new weekly episodes. Sigh. There’s no one quite like our favorite Caltech gang and their friends.

Thankfully, memes are alive and well in 2019 and can help us connect modern0day life with our favorite Big Bang Theory characters and moments. Today, we’re looking at everyone’s favorite Queen of the Nerds, Penny. Throughout 12 years, Penny has given us plenty of meme-able content. She was, after all, the hottest girl on the show (until Bernadette and Amy came along) and didn’t understand half the content her friends were talking about. We’ve all been there before, of course, which is why we’re looking at some Penny logic memes from The Big Bang Theory.

10 SO MANY OF US ARE PENNY IN THIS SCENE

Thanks to streaming sites like Netflix and Hulu, we’re blessed to be able to watch our favorite shows without commercials, interruptions, or weeks of anticipation for the next episode. Nope. They’re all right there, waiting for us to watch 12 whole hours of TV in one day.

In the scene above, Penny did something similar but was hooked on a virtual computer game rather than a show. But that’s not to say we all haven’t found Cheetos in our hair or being late to work because of our addiction. Penny was the most relatable on the show.

9 HOW DOES PENNY AFFORD HER RENT!?

To be fair, Penny did mention her money struggles from time to time in earlier seasons of The Big Bang Theory. From her heat not working to her power being turned off to not having WiFi, Penny wanted to be saved instead of saving herself. Nonetheless, at the end of the day, she was never evicted and continued to live in that same apartment for years until she traded places with Sheldon.

Rent in California is no joke, so the fact that she was able to “afford” that big of an apartment by just working at the Cheesecake Factory (because let’s be honest, acting didn’t pay her bills) is meme-able in itself.

8 LIVING IN A PARALLEL UNIVERSE

It’s pretty wild seeing our favorite characters come to life. You know, since they’re only being played by real people. In real life, Kaley Cuoco (Penny) isn’t as much of a dumb blonde as Penny and has a real admiration for the outdoors and animals.

Likewise, Jim Parsons (Sheldon) isn’t as smart as Sheldon, respectively, and has a completely different sense of style in comparison. For fans, it can be hard to not connect the actors to their characters, which is what makes this meme a real head-scratcher.

7 BUT SERIOUSLY…

This is where a bunch of Big Bang Theory haters have a problem. Some think Big Bang was feeding into stereotypes. Meaning, if you’re an attractive woman you’ll automatically be welcomed into the group, be paid for, and fawned after. Penny never asked to be admired, but she didn’t necessarily fight them when she took their food and WiFi for years without ever paying them back.

There was one episode where Penny borrowed money from Sheldon and felt so uncomfortable about it that she made their friendship awkward, but that quickly faded. After that, Penny took whatever she needed until someone made her feel bad for it.

6 WE NEVER DID FIND OUT PENNY’S LAST NAME

When fans heard The Big Bang Theory was ending, there were a few plotlines that needed to be ironed out and dealt with. Were Penny and Leonard ever going to have children? Did Sheldon and Amy ever win the Nobel Prize? Do we ever find out Penny’s last name?

Thankfully, fans had answers to the first two questions but not the last. We were introduced to Sheldon and Leonard’s family early on, but not Penny’s until later seasons. Likewise, we knew everyone’s last name but Penny’s! She is still the only character on the show with no last name.

5 PENNY & RACHEL GREEN HAVE MANY FASHION SIMILARITIES

Friends sadly ended in 2004 after 10 seasons. But thankfully for us, The Big Bang Theory took off just three years later in 2007. Fans of both shows couldn’t help but notice the small similarities between Penny and Rachel Green.

They didn’t necessarily act the same, but we wouldn’t be surprised if Kaley Cuoco took acting lessons from Jennifer Aniston. With similar facial expressions, fashion, and hairstyles, Penny could have been Rachel Green’s adult daughter! (That also would have been a fantastic way to find out Penny’s last name; to find out she was related to Rachel Green in an alternate universe.)

4 RIP PENNY’S BAD HAIRCUT

In the eighth season, Penny started off with a new haircut. Instead of her usual long, flowy locks, she had a shorter pixie cut. Sheldon, of course, was getting back from his train ride across America, so he had a major problem with Penny’s hairstyle since it was different than what he was used to.

Likewise, many fans were not a fan of her new change of hair. And for viewers who started watching the show in later seasons, they may have never remembered Penny’s previous hair but once they binge-watch it all from the first season to last, they may not be a fan of the change either.

3 PENNY GOT THE HANG OF IT ALL EVENTUALLY!

Oh, Penny. She did try to get the hang of Leonard and company’s hobbies. Eventually, she did get the hang of Marvel vs. DC and the different powers each superhero had. It took her longer than most fans would have liked, though.

Nevertheless, part of Penny’s charm was the fact that she didn’t know squat about the comic world. When she did know something the boys were talking about, it was enough to give her a pass for a few weeks.

2 DOES PENNY REALLY BRING IN BIGGER VIEWERSHIP THAN STEPHEN HAWKING!?

Stephen Hawking was a theoretical physicist who was one of the smartest men the world had ever seen. He touched the lives of many and created work that was unheard of at the time. Thankfully for viewers (and the cast), Hawking agreed to be on the show from time to time. Seeing Sheldon, Howard, Leonard, and Raj get giddy at the sight or sound of Hawking was adorable in and of itself. Nevertheless, when watching reruns, it appears Penny gets a larger reaction for being on-screen with cleavage than Hawking ever did.

Sure, the crowd cheered and applauded but it was tough to beat Penny when she wore that Wonder Woman costume (yet again another thing haters of the show had a problem with).

1 …MAYBE THIS WAS A BAD IDEA

It’s no surprise that Penny was saught after by Howard, Raj, and Leonard when they realized she moved in across the hall. She was beautiful, friendly, and genuinely liked hanging out with them. Sheldon, on the other hand, didn’t understand his friends’ fascination with Penny and detested her most of the time until he got to know her. And even though Leonard won her heart in the end, Howard and Raj did a handful of awkward pleasantries in hopes of winning her heart.

Let the woman breathe, please!
