The Big Bang Theory season 10 gave fans the Leonard and Penny wedding they were waiting for. The Big Bang Theory debuted on CBS back in 2007 and was created by Chuck Lorre (Two And A Half Men). The show revolved around the antics of a group of extremely geeky friends, including Sheldon, Leonard, Penny, and Raj. It didn’t take long for audiences to warm to the main characters, with the show recently ending after twelve seasons and inspiring a prequel spinoff titled Young Sheldon.

The Big Bang Theory is one of the most popular sitcoms of all-time, though it never quite received the level of acclaim of shows like Cheers or Seinfeld. The show milked a lot of its humor from the unrelenting nerdiness of the main characters, with Star Wars, Star Trek, and The Lord Of The Rings references being dropped on a semi-regular basis. It also attracted some starry cameos, including Stan Lee, Carrie Fisher, Elon Musk, Charlie Sheen and even Mark Hamill making surprise appearances.

It wouldn’t be a long-running sitcom without some kind of complicated love story, which in the case of The Big Bang Theory revolved around Leonard (Johnny Galecki) and Penny (Kaley Cuoco). Like the Ross/Rachel romance from Friends, The Big Bang Theory teased out this storyline for years, with the couple briefly getting together during season 3 before breaking up and seeing other people. They eventually reunited, though Penny has a hard time telling Leonard she loved him, despite his occasional marriage proposals. The duo finally wed in the season 9 premiere “The Matrimonial Momentum” in Las Vegas.

The Big Bang Theory season 10 premiere “The Conjugal Conjecture” finds Penny and Leonard having a more romantic second wedding with their loved ones. This episode also features the first appearance of Penny’s mother Susan, played by Kathy Sagal (Sons Of Anarchy) and her brother Randall (Jack McBrayer). While the episode itself was a little crowded in terms of characters and subplots, the actual wedding ceremony itself was surprisingly sweet and heartfelt.

Of course, this wasn’t the only major wedding on The Big Bang Theory, with Sheldon and Amy’s wedding in season 11 drawing just as many tears from the fanbase. Leonard and Penny’s second wedding in The Big Bang Theory season 10 might have been even more emotional if it wasn’t already their second ceremony, but the episode still proved to be a moving one.
