Although Big Brother: All-Stars may not be off to the most fast-paced of starts, that doesn’t mean the houseguests’ lives aren’t wild outside the walls of the BB house. This week’s reigning HoH, Christmas Abbott, has become a mom since last playing Big Brother, which fans are likely aware of as she has talked about it extensively. But the story behind her relationship with Benjamin Bunn, the father of her son, Loyal, is much less familiar to fans of the show.

Like most players who have tasted power this season, Christmas has flirted with controversy. Still, to her credit, she has established herself as a much more capable player this time around after spending the vast majority of BB19 on crutches. She tends not to drive strategic decisions, but she has much more agency in the game than she ever did riding Paul’s coattails back in 2017. Her newfound independence may have something to do with her becoming a mother in the years between her two BB appearances. Christmas gave birth to Loyal Atticus in October 2018 in Raleigh, NC. But in the months leading up to Loyal’s birth, Christmas and ex-boyfriend Benjamin dealt with some pretty extreme conflict.

SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY

According to The Cinemaholic, Christmas and Benjamin had a major falling out in August 2018. As of March of that year, the two were in a relationship with one another. Christmas excitedly announced she was pregnant, and the father was her boyfriend of several months. But in August, Christmas found Bunn cheating on her with a woman named Samantha Morse. Christmas apparently drove her car into Samantha’s car, and even attacked Samantha directly. Christmas was arrested, but avoided further prosecution because she was far along in her pregnancy. She and Benjamin went their separate ways, but things grew messier several months after Christmas gave birth to Loyal, as Benjamin attempted to gain custody of his son. Benjamin bizarrely denied the accusations of adultery by claiming he barely knew Christmas, but that he was working to co-parent with her nevertheless. This all came after Benjamin was accused of stalking and harassment from a different woman named Danielle Rivera. Now, it seems Christmas and Benjamin are finally cordial, despite the messy circumstances surrounding their relationship.

Because the players on this season were already established reality TV stars, their personal lives have been of greater significance than any prior BB cast. Therefore, complicated tales like Christmas’ were destined to come to the forefront. Fortunately, it seems Christmas and her ex-boyfriend have found peace and created a healthy parenting relationship for their son. Of course, the complex nature of this season could change a lot of things for Christmas and the rest of the houseguests when they return to the real world.
