Big Brother 22: What Happened to Kevin Campbell After Season 11

The new season of Big Brother: All Stars is already exciting viewers in a number of ways. But perhaps one of the best surprises of the season comes in the form of 40-year-old Kevin Campbell. Kevin emerged in Big Brother 11 as not only an excellent strategist, but a unique character unlike anyone the show had ever cast before. It has been 11 years since fans were first introduced to Kevin, but his return to Big Brother is more than welcome. As the only gay man and one of three men of color in All-Stars, Kevin brings a much-needed element of diversity to the show’s 22nd season, and a fascinating background that should prevent the show from depicting him as a sort of stereotype, as it has done to so many prior houseguests.

Kevin was born to a Black father and a Japanese mother. He often identifies himself on social media with #blasian. His pride in his cultural background, as well as his sexuality, is an empowering and refreshing quality on a show that tends to reduce its contestants to their more basic traits. In Big Brother 11, Kevin was always a voice of reason, calling out other houseguests on rude or offensive behavior. While he may have to bite his tongue a bit more when surrounded by fifteen other returning players, fans can rest assured that Kevin will maintain the same authenticity that defined him throughout BB11.

Fortunately for Kevin, a lot has changed in his professional life. The Cinemaholic reports that Kevin currently works as a Creative Director at an advertising agency. Prior to going on Big Brother, Kevin worked as a graphic designer. He continues to exercise his creativity outside of the workplace, as he enjoys making wall art around the San Francisco area, where he resides.

Unfortunately, Kevin has found himself in early trouble on Big Brother: All-Stars. He will be sitting on the chopping block alongside Keesha Smith for the first live eviction night of the summer. The loss of either player would be a huge blow for fans, but an early exit for Kevin might be considered especially disappointing. He has long been considered a player deserving of another opportunity to win Big Brother, and his voice is especially needed in a season that has already touched on various political and social issues.

Kevin’s authenticity is a breath of fresh air in a show that tends to shy away from honest and complex conversations. His presence in Big Brother: All-Stars has already benefited the season greatly, but his time in the house just might be short-lived. Fans will have to tune into Thursday’s live eviction to learn Kevin’s fate.
