The viewers now have an official grand finale date for Big Brother 23 to look forward to as BB23 ends this September 2021. After 85 days of intense gameplay, shocking blindsides, secret alliances, occasional showmances, and a plenitude of fan favorites, BB23 is coming to an end and gearing up for an unprecedented finale. As things stand, Azah Awasum, Derek Frazier, and Xavier Prather will compete for two spots in the final 2 of the season.

Alas, the BB23 finale is already slated to be a historic moment in the franchise. For one, the show will be giving out the biggest grand prize in its entire history: $750,000. Secondly, the three remaining finalists are Black contestants, which means that the first Black winner of Big Brother in the US will finally be crowned this year, no matter who wins. The Big Brother 23 finale will also give a $50,000 cash prize to whichever player receives the most votes to win America’s Favorite Houseguest.

SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY

The Big Brother 23 finale will be a two-hour episode airing on Wednesday, September 29 at 9 p.m. ET/PT on CBS. Just like last year’s Big Brother 22: All-Stars, this season will only be 85 days, which is 15 fewer days than the usual 100-day calendar of Big Brother. The grand finale will show which player becomes the final HOH of the season and which competitor he or she takes to the final 2. The jury will then deliberate and pick which person they’d like to win the $750,000 grand prize. Later, Julie Chen will announce which contestant has earned the most votes to win the title of America’s Favorite Houseguest (a.k.a. America’s Favorite Player/AFP).

This grand finale will also feature interviews with the pre-jury evictees. Last year, all the pre-jury players appeared at the finale via video conference due to COVID-19 protocols. It is possible that CBS will once again not fly them back to film the BB23 finale in the studio. Meanwhile, all the jury members will be there as they deliberate on who should win the season and ask the Top 2 finalists a few questions before casting their votes. The jury members are Britini D’Angelo, Derek Xiao, Sarah Beth Steagall, Claire Rehfuss, Alyssa Lopez, Tiffany Mitchell, Hannah Chaddha, Kyland Young, and whichever houseguest is evicted in third place live during the finale.

Understandably, the fans are very excited to see who will take the $750,000 prize home at the end of BB23. Azah, Derek F., and Xavier will try their best to land a spot in the Top 2, but only the final Head of Household of the season will make that call. Expect the unexpected!
