Da’Vonne Rogers is now reacting to Christmas Abbott’s remarks about “getting shot” on Big Brother 22: All-Stars if she put up Bayleigh Dayton and Da’Vonne on the nomination block. The fans had a hard time watching how the Big Brother game played out this year. All five pre-jury evictees were women, people of color, or both. Then, out of the four first evictees who were sent to the jury house, three were Black contestants. The Final 7 on BB22 was dominated by the Committee alliance, plus Enzo Palumbo, which had control of every Head of Household and almost every Power of Veto on the show.

During her first and only HOH reign on Big Brother 22, Christmas Abbott was convinced by the Committee alliance to put up Da’Vonne Rogers and Bayleigh Dayton on the block. Christmas was the first person to bring up that those nominations didn’t make a lot of sense for her game. After all, she had solid relationships with both Da’ and Bay. During one of her deliberations with the Committee, Christmas told her allies that she was quite literally afraid for her safety if she were to put up Da’Vonne and Bayleigh. “I’m going to get shot. Somebody is going to put a fork in my face,” Christmas said. “I’m scared, and I’m not easily spooked,” she added.

Now that all the Big Brother: All-Stars finalists and jury members are out of the house, they’re slowly going through all the interactions that happened behind closed doors on the show. As of late, Da’Vonne has been particularly active on Twitter, taking the time to listen to what her fans are saying. In one particular tweet (seen below), Da’Vonne reacted to a clip of Christmas saying the infamous “getting shot” line if she nominated Da’ and Bay. Da’Vonne replied to the clip with a tweet that read, “I was and AM fully aware of the one foot felon.” This is, of course, a shady response that references two things that Christmas is known for: breaking her foot on BB19 and getting arrested in 2018 for a third-degree felony and criminal mischief.

It’s great to see the BB22 America’s Favorite Houseguest winner standing up for herself and not letting those remarks go unaddressed. After all, there was no logical reason for Christmas Abbott to say those things. For one, no one has a weapon inside the Big Brother house. Secondly, the fights involving Da’Vonne Rogers on BB17 and BB18 and Bayleigh Dayton on BB20 were actually much more subdued than the fights that Christmas had on BB19. Last but certainly not least, it must be pointed out that Christmas saying that she was scared of angering two Black women is a direct contribution to the problematic and incorrect archetype of an “angry Black woman.”

There is a lot of footage for these houseguests to go through now that Big Brother 22: All-Stars is over. After all, they were inside that house (or in the jury house) for a total of 85 days.
