Big Brother 21 runner-up Holly Allen has revealed that she was almost cast on Survivor years before applying and getting cast on BB21. There’s no denying that Holly Allen made a big splash during her stint on Big Brother 21. Many fans don’t give her credit, but she did play a smart and strategic game and was competitive during several competitions. Holly was also Head of Household twice on the show, sending home Sam Smith in week 5 and Nick Maccarone in week 9. Throughout the season, her alliance with Jackson Michie dominated the game.

But Holly Allen wasn’t just BB21 winner Jackson Michie’s biggest ally, she was also his second – and longer – showmance during the season. Their love story was very real, even if the fans had certain thoughts about Jackson’s behavior in the game and Holly’s reactions to what he did. The couple went on to date for a long time after Big Brother, ultimately breaking up sometime in the summer of 2020. This year hasn’t been easy for a lot of couples, so it’s understandable that the odds just weren’t in their favor for the long run.

Now, Holly Allen has opened up about certain facts that most Big Brother fans must be unaware of. On Instagram, she reacted to an IG Story from a fan asking people to chime in on whether Holly would ever compete on Survivor. Holly started, “Fun Fact: I always figured I’d end up on Survivor.” She then made reference to her upbringing (Holly spent a lot of time at her family’s farm), which would make her a good fit for that show. Then, Holly revealed that she got deep into the casting process for Survivor: “Yes they actually did call me and yes I made it to finals (a few years before BB). However, I got in a bad car accident with head trauma and memory loss during the casting process and I decided to leave finals to take care of myself.” Still, Holly left it up in the air about whether she’d return, saying, “Maybe one day!”

To think of it, it is possible that Holly Allen would be better suited for a show like Survivor than for a show like Big Brother. There, she could be her full strategic self and leave less room to be seen as just “the pretty girl” by her fellow competitors and the viewers watching the show. As of late, there have been quite a few BB alumni expressing a desire to go on Survivor. There haven’t been that many crossovers, but they’re both CBS shows, which makes that a very possible thing.
