Big Brother‘s Jessica Graf Nickson took to her Instagram Story to recall her “terrifying” encounter with a scammer that ultimately stole $7,000 from her bank account. Jessica competed inside the Big Brother house during season 19 of the show in 2017. While inside the house, Jessica met Cody Nickson, who later became her husband.

Jessica and Cody are one of the few successful Big Brother showmances from the show that have stayed together outside of the house. Following the conclusion of the season, Jessica and Cody went on to get married. The two tied the knot in 2018, just one year after they met inside the house. The couple later had two kids together as well. Since leaving the house, Jessica has found herself in the world of Instagram influencers and blogging. She gives fans updates on her and Cody’s life together almost daily.

On Tuesday, Jessica took to her Instagram Story to share her “terrifying” encounter with a scammer. Noticeably shaken, Jessica began to explain that she was playing with her daughters when she received a phone call from what she believed to be Bank of America. Hesitant, Jessica answered the call to ensure her three accounts were okay. The man on the other end of the call began to tell Jessica this elaborate story about someone hacking her account and transferring money to themselves through the money transfer app Zelle. Nervous, Jessica instantly began to follow his instructions for retrieving the money back. It was not until she noticed that her bank account number began to drop rather than grow that she knew something was wrong.

She quickly went to grab Cody to ask his opinion on the situation. Jessica left Cody with their two daughters as she sped to the local Bank of America with the scammer still on the phone. She frantically ran into the bank asking for help; however, the scammer quickly hung up the phone upon learning she was at her actual bank. Unfortunately for Jessica, the scammer managed to steal $7,000 from her, which is money she most likely will not be able to get back. What frightened Jessica the most was the fact that the unknown man knew every detail of her personal information, which made her believe it truly was her bank. He knew her phone number, her home address and the exact amount of money she had not only in her personal account but also her business account as well as her joint account with Cody. On top of that, they even had her social security number.

This made Big Brother‘s Jessica worried not only for her own safety but the safety of her entire family as well. While this whole encounter was extremely traumatizing for Jessica, she wanted to share the story with her followers to warn them of how believable scammers can be. She also stated that she not only filed a police report but will also be increasing all safety measures on both her personal information as well as on her home.
