You can’t have Big Brother without the competitions. Over the years fans have seen multiple types of competitions. These include Head of Household competitions, Power of Veto competitions, luxury competitions, food competitions, battle-backs, and other special competitions such as battle of the block or competitions for special powers. There are also a number of classic competitions that reappear on the show with slight changes, such as “OTEV.”

But what qualifies a competition as one of the best? Is it the difficulty of the competition? The hilarity of the competition? The freshness of the competition? While all of these things are important, the most crucial aspect of a competition is the way the Big Brother houseguests play it. Let’s take a look at the 10 best competitions ever!

10 Morph ‘O’ Matic

This competition is a reoccurring competition. Although it sometimes goes by different names, it always features a mashup of houseguests pictures. The contestants are left staring at these weird combinations of themselves trying to figure out at whose faces they are looking.

This competition never fails to excite fans as they enjoy playing along from home and hearing the hilarious commentary from the houseguests participating in the game.

9 Big Brother News Room

During Big Brother 17, houseguests were forced to compete in competitions together as part of the “Battle of the Block” twist. While playing this competition, Liz and James were paired together.

James was tasked with throwing the competition to help his alliance. This game was played by throwing paint on a wall to reveal letters that helped answer a puzzle. James really tried his best to throw it, even dumping paint on top of Liz to attempt to slow her down. He was unsuccessful when Liz single-handedly won the competition.

8 Haunting of Clementine O’Grady

While many fans considered Big Brother Over The Top a bust, this competition is not to blame. As this season took place during the fall, a Halloween themed competition was included. The Big Brother house was transformed into a haunted house and the houseguests had to navigate their way through the dark.

They ran into creepy characters who provided them clues which led to a haunted item. Watching the houseguests jump and scream as they navigated the house was a blast.

7 BB Comics

This is another Big Brother classic, appearing on multiple seasons. The contestants are each drawn in comic form. There are several different comics of each houseguest with slight differences. The players have to identify the correct comic and put them in the correct order. The houseguests are always excited to see their comics and hilarious commentary is a staple of this game.

This competition is a fan favorite because production usually crafts the comics based on the fans’ reactions to specific houseguests, resulting in some much-needed roasting of certain competitors.

6 What The Bleep?

This competition has appeared as both a Head of Household competition and a Power of Veto competition. Clips of something a houseguest has said during the season is played with one word bleeped out.

The houseguests then have to select the correct bleeped out word. This is another game with which fans can play along at home. Production is very clever about choosing sound clips that sound incriminating when there is a word missing, even if the clip is innocent.

5 How Bad Do You Want It?

This Power of Veto competition has been played 3 times in Big Brother.  This was a simple competition and it hasn’t been used since season 14, but it’s time to bring this competition back. The most notable time this competition was played was in Big Brother All-Stars.

The contestants lasted multiple rounds — burning their clothes, bathing in blueberries, agreeing to skip the following veto competition, and even shaving their heads. In the end, Chicken George won the veto by agreeing to remain on slop for the remaining 60 days in the house!

4 Bowlerina

Many enjoy watching this competition as houseguests dress up in tutus and spin in circles before trying to roll a bowling ball down a lane to get a strike. This game always allows for interesting strategy as houseguests can choose who they would like to face-off against, targeting their competition.

This game makes the list because of the legendary move Vanessa made in Big Brother 17 during this game. Austin was planning to throw the veto to Julia as she was off the block and could ensure their alliance of 3 stayed safe. Vanessa didn’t want this to happen and she convinced Julia to face off against Austin. This led to Austin winning the veto and Julia being evicted.

3 Pull Some Strings

When this competition was played in Big Brother 14, the entire house wanted Frank out. The game was played in rounds, with each houseguest determined to nominate Frank and send him out the door on their Head of Household.

Remarkably, Frank knocked out each player one by one, winning the Head of Household and securing his safety for the week.

2 Strange Bedfellows

Although Big Brother 2 didn’t have the budget and high-tech props that fans can expect on current seasons, the spirit of the competitions still remained. In this competition, houseguests had to lay on a bed keeping one hand on a key. The last person remaining would become the head of household.

During this competition, a banner flew overhead with a message from Nicole’s husband accusing her of being unfaithful. This was obviously distracting for Nicole but she was determined to keep her hand on the key. When will adjusted the blankets pulling them closer to him, Nicole automatically went to pull the blankets back and removed both of her hands from the key without thinking about it. After Nicole was eliminated, Will threw the competition to Monica.

1 Pressure Cooker

This competition from Big Brother 6 holds the record for the longest endurance competition lasting a whopping 14 hours and 37 minutes! The houseguests were required to keep their hand on a button without removing it for the entirety of the competition. This meant no bathroom breaks, not food, and no sleep. The challenge offered additional incentives to quit and challenges the longer the contestants lasted. Some contestants received prizes.

Later in the game, the houseguests had to select one hand to keep on the button for the entire game. With this competition holding the record for longest-lasting competition for so long, fans wonder if there will ever be another endurance competition that compares.
