Big Brother alum Tyler Crispen is retiring from reality TV as he sets out to star in a new film. Tyler made the announcement of his latest business venture on Instagram Thursday, admitting that transitioning from reality shows to a scripted movie is not easy. Tyler is extremely excited to take on this new challenge and can’t wait to share more information about the film with his fans.

Tyler first competed on Big Brother during season 20 in 2018. Tyler not only was the runner-up of that Big Brother season, but he also won America’s Favorite Houseguest and met his now-fiancé, Angela Rummans. Following the season, Tyler and Angela started a jewelry company together called Naut & Chain. Last summer, Tyler headed back to the Big Brother house for the All-Stars season; however, it was not nearly as easy as his first go-round. This time, Tyler found himself having a hard time focusing on the game because he was missing Angela.

Now that Tyler is done with Big Brother and preparing to walk down the aisle, he is taking on a new venture. He announced on Instagram Thursday that he will be staring in a new upcoming film. Tyler is set to take on the leading role of Beau in The Queen’s Jewels. Tyler posted a video filmed on a beach, along with a lengthy caption sharing the news. In the caption on the post, Tyler described the character as “a small town surfer from the treasure coast of Florida,” making it only fitting that the announcement came from the beach. Tyler admitted that making the transition from a reality TV show like Big Brother to being a part of a scripted movie is not easy; however, he is ready to take on the challenge. After Tyler was offered the opportunity, he read over the storyline for the film and fell in love. He said, “The fact that this story is based around the true history of the Treasure Coast of Florida really struck me and gives it such a depth.” Because Tyler feels so strongly about the storyline and his character, Beau, he feels an “added pressure” to ensure he portrays both Beau and the overall story perfectly. Tyler is “honored” to have been asked to be a part of this film with “such a dedicated team.“

While Tyler gave fans an idea of what the film will be about, he left out many details, such as if he has begun filming and when it will be released. He did, however, share a link to a website collecting donations for the pre-production of the film. He assured his followers that more details will be coming soon. Tyler’s acting announcement came as a surprise to many. He explained that this has always been a dream of his. Like Julie Chen Moonves says, “Expect the unexpected,” both inside and outside of the Big Brother house.
