A rousing car chase blasts through the streets around MIT in a new set video from Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. Filming on the highly anticipated Marvel sequel kicked off at the very end of June, and fans have been eagerly waiting new details about the project. Black Panther 2 is continuing on in the wake of star Chadwick Boseman’s passing last year; the movie isn’t planning on recasting him or recreating him with CGI. Instead, writer-director Ryan Coogler has reshaped the story of Black Panther 2 to honor Boseman’s legacy.

As a result, little is known about the plot of Black Panther 2. The movie is expected to further explore the world of Wakanda and its many characters. Much of the cast from the first Black Panther are returning for this latest installment, including Lupita Nyong’o, Letitia Wright, Danai Gurira, Winston Duke, Martin Freeman, and Angela Bassett. Newcomers joining the Black Panther family include Michaela Coel and Tenoch Huerta. Additionally, the MCU’s Riri Williams (Dominique Thorne) will make her debut in the movie.

SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY

The Black Panther 2 production has moved to MIT for the time being, and a new set video offers a peek at a car chase taking place there. Shared online by The Marvel Network, the video reveals a red car and a motorcycle turning a corner and speeding down the street. According to the account, sources say the Dora Milaje are the ones in the vehicles. Check it out below.

The first Black Panther featured a memorable car chase through the streets of Busan, South Korea, so it’ll be interesting to see if Wakanda Forever‘s manages to surpass it in terms of excitement and originality. If the Dora Milaje truly are involved, it could be that the central conflict of the movie sees the elite warriors actively pursuing the main villain. Black Panther 2‘s primary antagonist still remains a mystery, though many have speculated that Namor the Sub-Mariner could join the franchise.

Black Panther 2 is currently scheduled for release in July 2022, and there are still several Marvel movies slated to arrive before then. Therefore, it will be some time before additional information about the film emerges. The biggest question regarding Black Panther 2 is still how Coogler will choose to handle Boseman’s passing; a previous set video hinted that T’Challa has passed away by the time the movie begins, or at least near the start of it. Though Black Panther 2 will surely be a respectful tribute to Boseman’s legacy, it’s clear there will be more to it. Stay tuned for future updates about Wakanda’s next big screen adventure.
