Bling Empire: Inside Anna Shay’s Daily Routines (She Shops At Target)

The friends and foes of Netflix’s Bling Empire are always making viewers laugh. As they bounce from one lavish and luxurious party to the next, members of the gang rarely fight with one another, but that’s not to say that their lives aren’t dramatic. There’s more than enough emotional turmoil to keep us clicking “continue” when Netflix asks us if we’re still watching. While we’re absolutely interested in seeing what Andrew will bring up next during his cringe-worthy conversations with his longtime girlfriend Kelly Mi Li, we have to be honest… we’re clicking “continue” to see more of Anna Shay.

Anna Shay seemingly came out of nowhere at age sixty, and now she’s become a true reality queen and spiritual goddess. Though she was known within the elite and super-rich social circles of Beverly Hills, she stayed completely out of the spotlight. She wasn’t in the news for making money as she was born into incredible wealth. She wasn’t on social media. Anna was living a quiet life. So, when she burst onto the scene and emerged as an absolute star after the premiere of Bling Empire, she came across as the real deal. This is because she is the real deal. We couldn’t get enough of her hilarious whispered wisdom. Her life choices, her life advice, her lifestyle… they were all genuine and authentic and, from the outside, looked like great fun. We all wanted to live like Anna.

Stories about Anna’s daily life continue to emerge. She has a $16 million Beverly Hills mansion that was once inhabited by Shirley Temple, which is situated off Sunset Boulevard. It’s the type of place that makes visitors think they’ve stepped back in time. She has another $5.35 million Beverly Hills mansion, which she purchased in early 2020. It was decorated by Dr. Phil’s son, in an homage to director Tim Burton. Her son Kenny has a collection of glass pipes valued at $500,000. Unsurprisingly, he’s a marijuana enthusiast. Despite desperately needing a hair makeover, Anna is always dripping in diamonds. Whether she’s in yoga pants, jeans, or couture, she’s also in diamonds. The queen didn’t cash her Netflix checks until she got in trouble and was forced to do so. So, what on earth could a woman with all this have in common with us?

In a recent interview, Anna shared her daily habits and routines. She may have access to top-of-the-line everything, but that doesn’t stop her from hitting a Target on a Friday night with her pals. She admits they might rather be at a shooting range, but she likes to shop at Target. She said, “It doesn’t matter if you’re wearing something from Target or from Chanel. There’s only one thing that I wouldn’t wear. It’s something straight off of a mannequin, because the mannequin is a size zero.” Bless that woman. She eats her toast breakfast at 2 p.m. and though her beauty regime does include treatments from skincare expert Nurse Jamie, her advice is simple: wash your face and use Ponds and Vaseline. As for what’s in her purse? She carries a huge one with everything she could ever need, and a small purse with just the essentials (wallet, phone, lipstick, eyeliner, and a hair tie.) Her best advice for how to throw a perfect party is to make sure everyone is seated next to compatible dinner dates. She also recommends making sure that the waiter knows what everyone drinks, so guests don’t need to ask. That is so classy.

Her best life advice comes from her mother. There’s nothing more important than knowing who you are, “For someone that is beautiful, there is always someone who is more beautiful. For someone who is smart, there’s somebody who is more smart. Just be happy and content with who you are.” If only we could be Anna Shay! Then, perhaps we would be more content with ourselves.
