Bloodborne’s PC Port Has Already Finished Development, Leaker Claims

A notable gaming industry insider claims a PC port of Bloodborne has been developed, and corroborates claims that Bluepoint Games is developing a console remaster and sequel. FromSoftware’s gothic action role-playing game, released in 2015, provided gamers fast-paced combat and a Lovecraftian world. Recent rumors suggest that Bluepoint Games is developing a Bloodborne sequel, as well as remastering the original game for new-generation consoles.

While FromSoftware’s “Soulsborne” genre has grown to include titles such as Bloodborne, Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice and the upcoming Elden Ring, this lineage began with 2009’s Demon’s Souls. The PlayStation 3 title featured unforgiving combat and fascinating lore, setting the stage for successors like Dark Souls and Bloodborne. This beloved game was recently remade for the PlayStation 5 by Bluepoint Games, a studio known for remastering Demon’s Souls and fellow PlayStation title Shadow of the Colossus. PlayStation officially acquired Bluepoint Games in September 2021, and while the studio’s next title is still unknown, rumors suggest that its next project will be a remaster and sequel to Bloodborne.

A new rumor, reported by Wccftech, claims that a PC port of Bloodborne has already been completely developed. The unverified information was shared by Shpeshal Nick, a notable industry insider, on the YouTube channel The XboxEra Podcast. Along with revealing the completion of a Bloodborne PC port, Shpeshal Nick also corroborates the rumors that Bluepoint Games is creating both a remaster of and sequel to Bloodborne, leading more credibility to that rumor. Gamers can play Bloodborne on PC through PlayStation Now and the game is immensely popular, so a full PC port of the game would likely be a hit.

As a successor to FromSoftware’s Demon’s Souls and Dark Souls, the PlayStation-4-exclusive Bloodborne manages to strategically twist the previous titles’ role-playing formula. Slow and often cumbersome combat was replaced by fast-paced encounters, where aggression and speed is rewarded. The former games’ dark fantasy settings were also traded out by the more unique city of Yharnam, a gothic town filled with monsters and eldritch secrets. A large selection of versatile trick weapons also added depth to Bloodborne‘s combat, allowing for a multitude of different character builds. This evolution of the “Soulsborne” formula seems to have played a large role in the game’s persistent popularity and the demand for its sequel.

Shpeshal Nick has joined a growing list of leakers who claim that new Bloodborne content is coming soon. Between a PC port, a console remaster and a full-blown sequel, fans of the gothic role-playing game may have a lot to look forward to in the future. For now, none of these rumors have been verified – and Bluepoint Games’ claims of working on an original title may suggest that a Bloodborne sequel is not on the way. In either case, the Lovecraftian action adventure is still available to those with access to a PlayStation 4 console.
