Rahul Kohli, star of The Haunting of Bly Manor, is officially finished with teasing his potential casting as Ezra Bridger on The Mandalorian. 2020 was Star Wars‘ biggest year in television yet, with animated series The Clone Wars coming to a proper end and The Mandalorian reaching bigger heights with its second season. Numerous new shows were announced to be in development, from Rangers of the New Republic to The Book of Boba Fett. Additionally, there were more animated and live-action crossovers than ever before, with fan favorite characters like Ahsoka Tano and Bo-Katan Kryze appearing on The Mandalorian.

The presence of those two on The Mandalorian gave rise to several fan theories about other animated characters popping up on the show, with Star Wars Rebels‘ Ezra Bridger perhaps being the most prominent. Those rumors were aided by Kohli, who has been tapped as one of the top fan picks for the role of the lost Jedi. Kohli first triggered rumors that he had been cast in the fall, and throughout the second season of The Mandalorian and beyond, he both debunked and encouraged them.

Now it appears Kohli is finally putting the matter to rest. Kohli took to social media yesterday and posted a screenshot of his muted words, showing he has put in “Ezra Bridger”. Muted words prevent Twitter users from seeing tweets with those specific phrases, and that Kohli added Ezra to the list shows he’s done talking about it. Accompanying the picture was a simple kissy face emoji. You can see his tweet down below.

Kohli’s most recent Ezra tease came back in December, only mere days after it was confirmed Rosario Dawson’s Ahsoka from The Mandalorian is getting her own spin-off. During Ahsoka’s one episode in The Mandalorian season 2, she mentioned Grand Admiral Thrawn, the last character to be seen with Ezra at the end of Rebels. This has only further fueled the idea that a live-action Ezra could appear someday, and Kohli’s consistent teasing gave fans a lot of hope. For the time being, though, Kohli is putting this behind him. Perhaps he’s gotten tired of hearing people ask him about it, or he simply decided he was done poking fun at the idea.

If 2020 has shown anything about Star Wars, it’s that just about any character can return in any form. Between The Mandalorian‘s Ahsoka, Boba Fett, and Darth Vader’s announced return for Obi-Wan Kenobi, there’s always room for past characters. This means there’s still a chance Ezra’s story could be continued somehow, whether it is through live-action form or animation. After all of this, fans will likely want Kohli to be involved somehow. Based on his muted words, however, they probably shouldn’t expect another word from him on the matter any time soon.
