Borderlands 3 SHiFT codes are used to provide a player with certain cosmetics and Golden Keys, these keys can then be spent to unlock the Golden Key Loot Chest on Sanctuary 3. This loot chest is filled with weapons and shields that are compatible with the player’s current level. This makes spending Golden Keys an important choice for players to make. Saving them could provide players with higher-level loot, but spending them early can help advance a character quickly at the beginning.

Luckily, Developer Gearbox puts out new SHiFT codes for Borderlands 3 quite often, so saving and spending keys isn’t too stressful. Generally, keys can be found on the Borderlands Twitter account, and are randomly put out through other social media platforms and accounts. This constant stream of codes makes for lots of loot that players can choose from.

There are two ways players can redeem SHiFT codes in Borderlands 3. The first is through the SHiFT website, simply sign up and link the chosen platform, then enter the SHiFT keys through the “Rewards Code Redemption” screen. If the code is valid it will send the prize to the player’s mailbox account in-game, ready to redeem next time Borderlands 3 is loaded. The second is through the games “Social” menu, from there click the “SHiFT” tab and log into, or create, an account. After players have logged in there will be a “SHiFT Code” tab that allows the player to punch in the codes, and redeem them from the mailbox.

With all these codes and Golden Keys at the player’s disposal, it’s easy to get a leg-up on the competition within Borderlands 3. The loot system provides level-equivalent weapons that make getting through some of the tougher bosses easier. The RNG of the Golden Key Chest can be a bit unforgiving, but overall more loot is better loot.
