The main goal in Borderlands 3‘s Psycho Krieg DLC, is for players to reach Vaulthalla which is guarded by the Psychoreaver. Of course, players will first need to reach Vaulthalla at the end of the DLC in Sanity’s Sanctum of the Psychoscope. This is part of the Locus of Rage questline.

The two sides of Psycho Krieg, sane and insane, stand facing each other in front of the portal to the entrance of Vaulthalla. After entering the portal, the player can walk deeper into Vaulthalla to a smaller secondary portal. Before entering, the boss, Psychoreaver can be heard, screaming belligerently. This secondary portal will take the player into the Lesionhall, the very last arena.

How to Fight Psychoreaver, the Final Boss in Borderlands 3’s Psycho Krieg DLC

Once the player has reached the Lesionhall, Sane Krieg will complain about something burning in his head. Tannis will tell the player that something in the area is pressing on Krieg’s mind, the thing she’s been looking for this whole time. Sane Krieg tells you that this unintelligible voice and feeling are the all-consuming rage.Psychoreaver blocks Krieg from being able to join the player in the fight with a shielding bubble, “protecting” Krieg. Krieg will let the player know that he will join in the fight as soon as he can. Shortly afterward, the player can proceed to fight the Psychoreaver. The map that has the Psychoreaver is within is a flat area with several different pillars as well as a higher level that the player can jump down from to initiate the fight. This impossibly large psycho wields a cage on a large chain as a sort of makeshift flail. The Psychoreaver can jump in the air and receive a spear via lightning strikes. Players should make use of the random pillars throughout the arena to avoid his attacks and to move as quickly as possible. However, the pillars shouldn’t be entirely relied upon as they will crumble and fall over after being attacked by the Psychoreaver. Each round there will also be a couple of psychos that will come out and attack the player outside of just the Psychoreaver. This means there are three different places the players will need to watch out for attacks. They’ll need to play strategically and evasively to avoid being hit as much as possible and to keep good places available for them to hide and dodge attacks. After this, players will just need to take their time to get through the fight.Once the Psychoreaver has reached half health, the Kriegs will arrive to help out during the fight. At this point, the Psychoreaver will become even larger. Instead of having regular, floor-bound, psychos, there will now be psychos riding torpedos. The Psychoreaver’s flail is also now flaming. However, he is no longer physically on the map, so the player can just avoid the end of the flail.Getting closer-up can help the player avoid being hit as often by the flaming end of the flail. The Krieg’s can hold the Psychoreaver for a short period when he is near a fourth of his health. Once the player has defeated the Psychoreaver, they will need to loot the space quickly as it was entirely hinged around that character.
