Borderlands 3: Moxxi’s Heist of the Handsome Jackpot DLC Walkthrough

Gearbox Studios’ Borderlands 3 is a massive FPS game filled with epic boss battles and legendary loot. The new DLC, Moxxi’s Heist of the Handsome Jackpot, adds in even more adventure and weaponry. Getting through the DLC is pretty straight-forward with a few twists and turns along the way and this guide will get you through all the main story missions with ease.

As a warning, there will be spoilers within this guide. We’ve attempted to not go into too much detail on the actual story elements and focus more on the mission objectives, but there may be some surprises revealed. Overall, Moxxi’s Heist is a strong addition to Borderlands 3 and one of the most enjoyable stories in the Borderlands mythos.

“The Handsome Jackpot” Mission in Borderlands 3

To begin the adventure head over to Moxxi’s Bar in Sanctuary III, there will be a poster that you interact with. Next, head to the control room and use the hyperspace terminal to make your way to the Handsome Jackpot!

Use the drop pod to open the airlocks. Head down the Glamorous Gateway. You’ll come upon a wheel, pull the lever to spin it. A group of loader bots will come out, dispatch of them as you see fit. Then head towards the Casino where another group of enemies awaits.

Continue forward to the Windfall way and follow the tracks to the Subway. There will be a small fight with the Third Rail and his gang looters which is easy enough using any fire-type weapons. Travel to Spendopticon and go up the stairs until you reach the strip. You’ll come across a man in trouble named Timothy. Timothy looks alot like another handsome gentleman you may know. You must rescue Timothy which can be done by clearing out the enemies in the area. Be careful fighting the EXP Loaders as they will explode if they get close to you. Simply keep your distance and keep shooting at their legs.

Once rescued, Timothy will lead you and give you a corrosive weapon. The next thing you have to do is to get the Focalizer. There will be more Loader bots in your way. Finally, place the Focalizer and head to Timothy’s hideout where you will talk to him and begin the next mission.

“Playing with Fire” Mission in Borderlands 3

This mission is fairly short and simple. Meet with Timothy and he’ll unlock the door to the Hyperway. Call the Hyperway and travel to the Vice District where you’ll need to find Ember. Defeat another group of enemies and the NPCs around the area will help you find Ember’s location. Once found, Ember will offer you a gift that is located at Silky’s Soak.

Head down to Silky’s Soak and clear the area from even more enemies. Ember’s gift will be in a pile of garbage along a narrow alleyway on the map. Follow your map markers and retrieve it. Head back to Foxxi’s and clear the enemies on the way. Speak to Ember and trigger the end of the mission.

“Winners and Losers” Mission in Borderlands 3

The third mission begins by using the Information Kiosk and take the ticket. Use the terminal to activate the subway then continue to the Lotto Grotto. Pull the lever to get access to Impound Deluxe and press the button next to the door.

Talk to the bot upstairs at Client Services, you’ll get a form after talking to the bot. Call the client services and bring down the Bureaucracy Bot to open the doors. Continue down the hallway and take a number from the customer, he will attack you, defeat him when he attacks. Next, you’ll run inside the Impound Dock and make your way to Beggar’s Beth. Follow the marker through the slums to face off with the Constructor. Focus on its eyes which are his weak points. After the fight, talk to Freddie and follow him to the next mission.

“One Man’s Treasure” Mission in Borderlands 3

The next Mission is divided into two parts, to start head to the Golden Trough’s trash chute. Gather the trash around the area and head for the Golden Trough which will pile the trash. Once gathered, use Ember’s Bomb to explode the pile.

You’ll have to fight Stanley to get his key. Open the trash chute with the key which will lead you to Trashlantis. After you enter Trashlantis, meet the mayor and he’ll have you gather power cells then head to Refuse Ridge. Defeat the Scraptrap Nest that appears and find a way to get inside Tony Bordels’s fort that is through the clogged pipe which has to be shot at, make your way through the fort and take the Constructor’s eye.

Secondly, you’ll have to return to Traslantis and give the power cells to Freddie. Place the parts on the broken constructor and take the improvised power source from Freddie. Place it all on the constructor. Open the Barricade once you reach it by checking on Clapstructor, you’ll have to defend the Clapstructor along the way as it opens barrier and fixes the beams. Once inside you’ll face off against Tony Bordel. Attack his armor first with corrosive weapons. Once dispatched, talk to the mayor to end the mission.

“The Plan” Mission in Borderlands 3

Easily the shortest mission of the bunch. Return to Casa de Timothy in Spendopticon and follow the marker to the door and open it.

You’ll face off against Tricksy Nick, fire-type weapons will help you easily take him down. Grab the blueprints and activate the 3 switches in the right order from left to right as written on them. There will be some bots that spawn as you do this.

Shoot the forcefield and collect compound 24. Handsome Jacket and Handsome Slacks will come out and attack. Just keep your distance and attack when optimal. This will end the mission.

“Jack’s Wild” Mission in Borderlands 3

The next mission starts as you head to the Spendoticon station clearing the enemies in the way. Follow Timothy as he bypasses the forcefield where you will kill the security bots. Then use the elevator to go down and shut off the Loader assembly line after Moxxi talks to you.

Move along the power cable and destroy the generator to go through another forcefield. As you reach the lab, drop down from the broken ledge to trigger the boss fight where you will face the Fabricator which has two health bars. Utilize shock weapon for his shield and corrosive weapons for his armor. Finally, shoot and destroy the power cables and head into the final mission.

“All Bets Off” Mission in Borderlands 3

For the final mission, you’ll need to head to Spendopticon and talk to Ember. Make your way to the Blast doors and clear the area of the enemies, grab the Ultra-thermite from Ember and place it on the doors. Enter the VIP lobby and clear another group of enemies, including a small fight with Freddy. Use Electric-type weapons to handle him with ease.

Take the elevator up and trigger the final boss battle against Jackpot. Jackpot will attack with lasers that are easily avoidable. Just stay out of his way and shoot every chance you get. After the Jackpot’s shield is depleted, he will become more aggressive. Just keep moving and shooting when possible.

Once defeated, use the console to free Timothy. Pick up the hand and use it on the console to end Moxxi’s Heist of the Handsome Jackpot. Grab your loot and revel in your victory.
