One The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild player devised a clever way to reach the top of Sheikah Towers without climbing them. Breath of the Wild’s Sheikah Towers appear across multiple Zelda titles as ancient structures scattered around Hyrule. Built to detect the return of Calamity Ganon, each of these towers serves a greater in-universe purpose.

Of course, BOTW’s smart game design puts the structures to use in gameplay, as well. Akin to Synchronization Points in Assassin’s Creed or radio towers in Ubisoft’s older Far Cry titles, activating Sheikah Towers uncovers parts of the open-world map. The challenge, though, is actually getting to and climbing the towers, a task that can range from simple to a touch above arduous. Breath of the Wild features 15 Sheikah Towers in total, all of which must be scaled to fully fill out the map of Hyrule Kingdom. But what if there was a way to reach the top of some towers without scaling them? One player seems to have devised a trick to accomplish just that.

SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY

Reddit user Jaxolon333 discovered a clever trick that should allow players to avoid making the trip up Breath of the Wild’s Sheikah Towers. The Redditor shared their cheat in a quick video, which begins with three of the game’s massive metal crates stacked atop one another in a pyramid formation. After using Magnesis on the topmost metal box, the user then climbs it and uses a remote bomb to hurl the box and Link high into the air. When the crate starts falling, Link relies on his trusty paraglider to carry him the rest of the way to the nearby Wasteland Tower. It’s quite the sight to behold; check it out in the following video:

This counts as yet another example of the ingenuity of BOTW players, who continue to find new ways to exploit the nearly five-year-old game’s myriad baked-in systems. Reason suggests there remain other tricks of a similar nature that have yet to be discovered, as well.
