Boy Meets World showcases several memorable personalities with its often touching storylines. Characters like Cory Matthews and Shawn Hunter drive the series, and some characters are more likable than others in Boy Meets World. However, they often run into quirky side characters that drive interesting plots.

Characters like Shawn’s dad Chet Hunter and Cory’s controversial love interest Lauren bring the show some of its best episodes. Audiences may not love them as much as stars like Topanga Lawrence and Eric Matthews, but the show wouldn’t be the same without these smaller roles.

Trini Martin

Eagle-eyed fans will remember Trini is played by the late great Brittany Murphy. She only appears in a couple of episodes during the third season of the series. However, viewers might recall her role as Topanga’s quirky friend.

Trini is characterized by her eccentric and playful attitude. Audiences might argue the character is a product of Topanga’s early personality development in the series as a wacky student who moves to the beat of her own drum before her academic side comes out in later seasons.

Stuart Minkus

Fans of Boy Meets World no doubt recognize the smug look of overachieving Stuart Minkus. He appears instrumental in the show during the first season, then seems to vanish.

Producers make a nod to this phenomenon in a later season when he is referenced as having been in the side of the school that exists off-screen, along with Mr. Turner after his sudden disappearance. Minkus returns for a guest spot in Season 5.

Jennifer Bassett

Jennifer Bassett appears only in a few episodes of Boy Meets World, but fans perhaps say they are memorable ones. She is introduced to characters in “An Affair To Forget,” as Shawn’s overbearing girlfriend. Fans no doubt remember the hilarious hijinks that ensue as Shawn and Cory try to spend time together behind her back.

She returns in a trademark episode, “First Girlfriends Club.” She and two of Shawn’s other exes come together to get revenge on him by making him miss a Valentine’s Day date with Angela Moore. She doesn’t show up after this episode, but she makes an appearance in Girl Meets World after marrying Minkus.

Chet Hunter

Shawn Hunter is one of the most beloved characters in Boy Meets World. Shawn wouldn’t be who he is without his father Chet. He is one of the most memorable supporting characters. However, that doesn’t mean he is a great father.

Chet abandons his sons multiple times in Boy Meets World, and some fans might not forgive him for his behavior. However, he drives several storylines and makes for some of the show’s best drama, especially when it comes to Shawn.

Frankie Stechino

Frankie might not be audiences’ favorite supporting character early on in Boy Meets World. He is a bully to both Cory and Shawn and threatens them with violence multiple times at the beginning of the show.

However, Frankie later is revealed as a gentle soul. He writes poetry and speaks eloquently. He becomes an ally of sorts to Shawn and Cory, especially after the boys help each other out in the memorable prom episode.

Eli Williams

Eli might be the most underrated supporting character in Boy Meets World history. Fans perhaps remember him from his short-lived run during Season 3 of the series. He is one of the teachers at John Adams and Jonathan Turner’s best friend.

Eli makes quips about Mr. Turner’s personal affairs, and often his love life. He teaches Media Arts and engages students with his witty banter. When Mr. Turner introduces him, he reminds students to pay attention to the difference between what the media says and what is real.

Dean Lila Bolander-Feeny

Dean Bolander is one of Boy Meets World‘s supporting characters from its later seasons. She’s introduced when the kids make it to college. She is first presented as stern and humorless.

However, she reveals her level-headedness after she judges the conflict Cory has with a nefarious professor over Topanga. Eventually, Mr. Feeny and Dean Bolander get involved and marry. The dean is played by Bonnie Bartlett, the real-life wife of actor William Daniels who plays Mr. Feeny.

Lauren

Diehard fans of Boy Meets World might not like Lauren. She is perhaps the only character to ever seriously threaten the romance between Cory and Topanga. However, it would be hard for audiences to argue that she doesn’t cause maybe the most exciting and dramatic plotline to ever come to the series.

Lauren gives Boy Meets World some of its most emotional episodes. Cory and Topanga’s relationship is tested thanks to Lauren and Cory’s entanglement, which causes them to split. However, fans maybe always knew that it would take a lot more than Lauren to keep Cory and Topanga apart.
