EX Champion Urbosa’s Song is one of the main quests that are part of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild Expansion Pass DLC Pack 2 The Champion’s Ballad. Since the main game has sold 23.20 million copies on the Switch alone at the time this is being written, many people may have already played this DLC.

But, anyone who has played this game knows that it does not guide the player as most modern games do. Instead, the player must discover things on their own, which means there are hidden things that could easily be missed.

10 Proper Weapons Against Molduking

According to the song verses Kass shares with the player at the start of the quest, the first trial the player must complete is to “fight the brute of the sand.” While the line is a little vague, talking to one of the guards in Gerudo Town reveals that there is a Molduga in East Barrens, which is what the player is looking for. Once the player arrives, however, it is revealed that the “brute” is actually a new kind of Molduga that is called Molduking.

Although the Molduking follows many of the same patterns as a Molduga, it is much more powerful. Even with fully upgraded armor, the Molduking will cause tons of damage if the player is not careful. But, shock arrows and thunder weapons can quickly turn the tides of battle in the player’s favor. If the player finds themself struggling, lighting-based weapons may come in handy.

9 Keive Tala Shrine Chest

After beating the Molduking, the first shrine, Keive Tala Shrine, unlocks for the player. The player must connect a long electricity circuit in order to open a gate that leads to a monk, who will give the player one of the three emblems needed to fight the final challenge.

But, the final area of the shrine also has a secret chest. Next to the monk is a device that requires the player to use motion controls. The player must move a laser to flick four switches that control four platforms. If the switches are hit by the laser at the right time, then the platforms make a bridge to the hidden chest. This chest contains a Radiant Shield.

8 Takama Shiri Shrine Chest

During the second trial, the player opens up a second shrine called Takama Shiri. In this shrine, the player must move platforms so that they will not get electrocuted. Similar to the last shrine, the player has to do some extra puzzle solving to get the secret chest.

Towards the end of the shrine, the player has to move some climbable blocks to form a staircase to reach the upper level. But, there is also a hidden chest behind these blocks. To get this chest, the player must move the climbable blocks so that they can go up and over, which leads to the button that opens the chest.

7 Kihiro Moh Shrine’s Thunderspear

For the final trial, the player unlocks the third shrine of power called Kihiro Moh. In this last shrine, the player has to figure out how many of several different colored balls are in a large box by shaking it around. Then, the player takes each of the orbs and puts them in the hole that both corresponds to the color of the orb up front and the number of torches on the wall, which needs to be the same as the number of balls in the box.

While this is already complicated, the player must once again do another step of the puzzle in order to get the secret item. Along with the colored balls, there is also a certain number of colorless balls in the box. Once the player counts those as well, the player can use Magnesis to open the bottom of the box, take out one of the colorless balls and place it in the proper place near the monk. The secret reward is a Thunderspear.

6 First Hidden Dialogue

Once the player has gathered all the emblems from the three shrines, the player can approach the Divine Beast and enter the Illusory Realm to fight Thunderblight Ganon with limited items. After beating this challenge the first time, the player sees a cutscene of Zelda visiting Urbosa, who then protects Zelda during an ambush. Back in the present, Urbosa’s voice tells Link that he can now use Urbosa’s Fury more often.

But, if the player fights Thunderblight Ganon again, then Urbosa will have different lines of dialogue. She tells Link that, if he finds her diary, he should show it to Zelda because there is a section about her mother. This is a hint at another secret in this DLC.

5 Second Hidden Dialogue

If the player fights Calamity Ganon’s minion Thunderblight Ganon again, then Urbosa will give another new chain of dialogue. She is surprised that Link came back again and is impressed by his dedication. Then, she asks how Link managed to get inside Gerudo Town. Within a second, however, she realizes that he must have disguised himself.

Urbosa tells Link that he looked “lovely” in it 100 years ago. She also laments that Zelda has not seen it. Overall, it is a nice little exchange that gives some more life to these characters.

4 Third Hidden Dialogue

If the player decides to fight Thunderblight Ganon for a fourth time, the player will once again get more dialogue from Urbosa. She tells Link that he is “quite skilled,” and then she wonders who the chief in Gerudo Town is now.

Because of her death during the Great Calamity, she says that her sudden absence must have been hard on the rest of the Gerudo. But, she is certain that they were able to overcome all the obstacles.

3 Fourth Hidden Dialogue

Once again, the player can choose to challenge Thunderblight Ganon again and receive another dialogue chain from Urbosa. She begins by saying that Link carries “many burdens,” which include Zelda and the rest of Hyrule. Despite these burdens, however, she believes that Link will succeed.

Then, she says that, once Ganon is destroyed, she will share her memories of Zelda with her mother. She will also tell her not to worry about Zelda because she has Link at her side.

2 Last Hidden Dialogue

After fighting Thunderblight Ganon for the sixth time, the player will receive the last new set of dialogue. If the player decides to fight him again, the dialogue will start over with the first hidden dialogue. In this last speech, Urbosa says that Link has not “rusted with age.”

But, she also emphasizes that he should never let his guard down since neither of them wants to see “the Princess in tears.” With this shortest dialogue, Urbosa has nothing left to say. All of this shows the depth the main characters in Breath of the Wild have.

1 Urbosa’s Diary

During the first hidden piece of dialogue, Urbosa mentions that she left a diary behind that Zelda should see if Link is able to find it. If the player goes back to Gerudo Town and talks to Riju in the palace, she will reveal that she keeps Urbosa’s diary in her room. She will tell Link that he can read it since Urbosa trusted him.

The diary is long and covers plenty of history. At the start, Urbosa talks about how the Queen visited her to reveal the birth of Zelda. Then, she goes into the Queen’s death and Zelda’s struggles to meet expectations. After that, Urbosa explains her thoughts on becoming one of the champions and the early troubles between Link and Zelda.
