A Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild fan has created the Zelda logo by walking across Hyrule. Nintendo’s most recent installment in the Legend of Zelda series was praised for its open-world, which remains unmatched five years after its initial release. With a relatively easy-to-follow storyline and game mechanics, Breath of the Wild’s allure lies in its expansive map with hidden treasures, small quests, and interesting NPCs and foes. Once fans beat the game, they were hoping for more content, which Nintendo delivered on with several DLCs.

Released a couple of months after the game’s release, Breath of the Wild’s The Master Trials DLC gave players new content, new challenges, and new modes. One of the new modes included in the DLC is the Hero’s Path Mode, which charts the player’s every movement on the map. The Hero’s Path Mode in the Zelda: Breath of the Wild DLC shows the player exactly where they have spent the most time. It works retroactively, tracing the path of the player’s last 200 hours of play, and gives players the ability to plot their footsteps on a convenient slider. Now a player has used this feature to recreate the Zelda logo.

SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY

On the Zelda subreddit, user RyanCS1234 posted a screenshot of a fan’s recreation of the Zelda logo made by walking across the game’s expansive open world. RyanCS1234 mentions that the fan that goes by the handle polonium496 spent 45 hours in a span of 30 days to make the logo. The video showing the player’s progress can be found on polonium496’s Twitter.

Fans of Breath of the Wild have been making fan art similar to polonium496’s fan art as they eagerly wait for the presently named sequel of the 2017 game to be released. In fact, one fan even created a Google maps-inspired piece of fan art for BOTW. Created by a software designer, this interactive Google map of Hyrule allows fans to select dropped pins across the land for panoramic views in first-person. The fact that fan art for Breath of the Wild’s map alone has been created proves just how monumental the game’s open-world really is.

Despite Nintendo releasing another DLC for the Zelda game, fans are still waiting for BOTW’s sequel to be released. The sequel is currently slated for a 2022 release, but there are several signs pointing to a delayed launch of 2023. Until a sequel to Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild comes out, it is guaranteed that dedicated fans will continue to make fan art.
