A thoroughly confused The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild player recently encountered a glitched Lizalfos that could not stop spinning in circles. Earlier this year, Nintendo officially announced that the 2017 Game of the Year would be getting a sequel that currently has an unspecified release date sometime in 2022.

In a game as massive as BOTW, glitches are to be expected even though the title has been out for more than four years. Nintendo has been somewhat hands-off in their approach to fixing some of these bugs and instead embracing them as part of the game’s makeup. This has allowed players a unique type of experimentation to figure out how certain glitches can make Breath of the Wild more fun and be useful without completely breaking the game. There are some lingering bugs, however, that are not so user friendly and can be baffling to those who encounter them as they usually only appear to a handful of players.

A recent example of a situation becoming odd thanks to a glitch comes from Reddit user explt, who showcased a Lizalfos pulling off some cool spins in front of Link. The reptilian enemy appears to be locked in a singular spot where all it can do is spin in circles. It does not even try to attack Link when the player dares to get closer, perhaps trying to see if that will break the foe out of its unfortunate predicament.

In most games, standard enemy types often take the brunt of the player’s aggression by design. That’s certainly the case for Breath of the Wild‘s enemies. The BOTW community seems to be taking things a step further with some excessive displays to truly show Link’s might. Even the most fearsome foes have been humbled by some of the skilled veterans with one player in particular completely decimating a pair of Lynels in about 30 seconds.

Even though this is a glitch, it is still impressive that BOTW can continue to produce so much unique content even with the game’s five-year anniversary approaching. It demonstrates just how massive this incredibly ambitious title continues to be, especially since it still manages to provide a substantial amount of content to those who somehow manage to 100% Breath of the Wild. Players are still pulling off unique feats in the game and likely will continue to do so until Breath of the Wild 2 finally debuts. Maybe by then explt’s spinning Lizalfos will finally get dizzy and that reptile’s personal nightmare will at last be over.

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is available digitally and at retail for the Nintendo Switch.
