During the course of Broad City, Abbi and Ilana have a lot of romantic relationships with varying degrees of seriousness. Some of these partnerships are very short-lived, while others are long-term relationships.

While they date and hook-up with many men in the series, they are both queer women who have some relationships with women, too. However, some of these partners are ones we’d want to date, while others would be pretty awful to have a relationship with.

10 Wouldn’t: Tyler

Tyler, at first, seems like the perfect boyfriend. He’s really good-looking, generous in the bedroom, and also a very open-minded bisexual person himself. It’s no wonder that Ilana is really into him.

However, when she sees his improv comedy, it’s clear that he’s a lot more immature and less self-aware than she thought. Some of his offensive jokes are why he isn’t that appealing in the end.

9 Love: Adele

Adele is the woman that Ilana hooks up with and briefly dates after meeting her while she’s at a catering job. Adele, played by Alia Shawkat, looks really similar to Ilana, and Ilana isn’t able to continue dating her once she notices that they are doppelgangers.

However, for anyone else, Adele would be a great catch, as she’s engaging, smart, passionate, and beautiful.

8 Wouldn’t: Dale

Dale is someone that Ilana dated in the past and he is a total creep. During the episode, Ilana has to try to track down a remote at his house so that the cable company will stop charging her.

It’s revealed by the end of the episode that Dale has a creepy obsession with Ilana that includes a stalker shrine of pictures, the remote, and more. He’s really uncomfortable and clearly a dangerous person.

7 Love: Mike

Abbi has a short-lived relationship with Mike after meeting him when he was her paramedic. She ends up asking him out and they start seeing each other, but Abbi makes the relationship out to be much more than it is.

While this relationship doesn’t go anywhere really, Mike is attractive, a paramedic, and a nice person, so he would be a catch.

6 Wouldn’t: Trey Pucker

Trey is a trainer at Soulstice who is Abbi’s boss turned lover. While she didn’t like him for very long, they end up having a fling and a short relationship, despite Abbi’s better judgment.

While Trey can be caring and he did actually like Abbi a lot, he isn’t someone most people would want to date. He’s very weird, doesn’t have much self-awareness, and would be really awkward to date.

5 Love: Lesley

Abbi dates Lesley for a little while after Lesley was her doctor, and she asks her out. This was a great moment that naturally showed that Abbi wasn’t completely straight, and the show handled this well.

While they are girlfriends for a time, this relationship doesn’t last because Lesley sees that Abbi isn’t ready for a mature, adult life and relationship. While that might have been harsh for Abbi to hear, Lesley knew what she wanted. Given that she’s a doctor with a really put-together life, she would be an amazing catch.

4 Wouldn’t: The DJs

During the episode, “Fattest Asses,” Ilana and Abbi end up meeting and then going home with two DJs from a rooftop party. While these DJs aren’t exactly their boyfriends at any point, as these are just casual hook-ups, they are two of the grossest men they try to sleep with.

It turns out that both of them are just trying to have a foursome without getting consent for it first.

3 Love: Jaime Castro

Jaime isn’t ever Ilana’s boyfriend, as he’s a gay man, but they do have a really long-lasting and deep friendship.

Jaime would be a great boyfriend in many ways because he’s really cute, caring, and can put up with a lot, given that he’s Ilana’s close friend. He would definitely make a fun, sweet partner.

2 Wouldn’t: Jeremy Santos

Jeremy Santos is a pretty legendary character from Broad City, as he’s the man that asks Abbi to take the reins and do a specific act to him. However, while he seems open-minded, he’s actually rather judgemental.

He might not be a horrible boyfriend by any means, but he is a bit self-righteous and could be a difficult person to date unless you’re into the exact same things that he’s into.

1 Love: Lincoln Rice

The most notable romantic relationship from the series is between Lincoln and Ilana. They date off and on throughout the series, and Lincoln is one of the main characters. He is a great boyfriend who is super caring, really successful, and a lot of fun.

While these two don’t work out, the way things end is very realistic and mature. They both just want different things in life for the long-term, but they did love each other and learned a lot from their relationship.
