In the episode “Chosen,” Buffy says “I’m cookie dough… I’m not done baking. I’m not finished becoming whoever the hell it is I’m gonna turn out to be. I make it through this, and the next thing…” Reddit user fraac doesn’t love “Buffy’s whole ‘I’m not done baking yet’ bit for why Angel should chill” when he’s jealous of her and Spike. In the season 7 episode “Him,” Dawn wants to be a cheerleader and has a huge crush on R.J. Reddit user yesmydog doesn’t love watching “Dawn’s cheerleading tryouts” and mentioned, “that was definitely cringey on purpose.”

It makes sense that this Dawn storyline would make some fans cringe as Dawn isn’t a fan favorite character on the show. Many think that she complains too much and makes everything all about her.

Xander changes on Buffy The Vampire Slayer and at first, he has a huge crush on Buffy. He thinks that it’s great that she’s the new student at school and is willing to do anything if she would go out with him.

Not everyone loves that Xander is romantically interested in Buffy, though. For Reddit user SqueakerBot, “Xander asking Buffy out. Just that entire plotline” is very cringeworthy.

6 When Buffy Likes Parker

Buffy and Parker start chatting after they see each other at The Rocket Cafe, and while Buffy sleeps with him and is interested in a serious relationship, he doesn’t want anything more than sex. Buffy is definitely heartbroken and lost.

Reddit user EvilShannanigans wrote, “Buffy chasing after Parker….ick.” Reddit user suddenly_awkward agreed and said, “Buffy moping around for the next few episodes after the Parker incident” frustrated them. This is definitely a sharp contrast to Buffy’s regular attitude as she’s usually so strong and tough, so it makes sense that some viewers wouldn’t like this storyline.

5 The Ending Of The Season 1 Finale

The season 1 finale “Prophecy Girl” is a jam-packed episode as Buffy makes sure that the Hellmouth closes and that she can save the world., At the end, Angel, Xander, and Buffy stroll in the direction of Sunnydale High.

One Redditor dislikes this scene and wrote that when Buffy says “Oh, look. A bad guy” at a vampire, it “Makes me cringe every time.” It’s true that this quote does feel a bit anti-climatic and odd.
