Call of Duty: Warzone delivers large-scale battle royale action, while Black Ops Cold War is a more traditional installment in the iconic shooter franchise. Both titles have received simultaneous seasonal updates over the last year, ensuring that the Call of Duty franchise remains consistent in both gameplay and narrative developments. Season Six appears to continue this trend, with a climactic confrontation brewing between Black Ops Cold War hero Adler and Warzone‘s mysterious antagonist Stitch. The fiery conclusion to this ongoing story will result in changes to Verdansk and an updated Warzone Gulag, among other large content additions and changes.

The Call of Duty: Warzone and Black Ops Cold War Season 6 roadmap has been officially revealed via the Call of Duty blog. For Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, this October 7 update will introduce three new multiplayer maps titled Deprogram, Amerika and Gluboko. The game’s Zombies mode will also be receiving an epic conclusion, with the final map, Forsaken, closing out the undead narrative ahead of Vanguard‘s own Zombies mode. Finally, additions to both Black Ops Cold War and Warzone include five new weapons, new Prestige levels, and reccurring series Black Ops protagonist Alex Mason as an operator.

Meanwhile, Call of Duty: Warzone will receive numerous additions, as its map of Verdansk is dramatically changed by widespread explosions. Multiple World War II-era bunkers have been revealed by these explosions, leading to new points of interest appearing. A new Gulag system, inspired by the game’s original system from back in 2019, will allow players to earn back their life in a 1v1 showdown. Season Six will also begin a transition from Warzone‘s current Regiment system into Call of Duty: Vanguard‘s upcoming Clan system. The new season will officially begin on October 7.

By demolishing large swaths of Verdansk, and revealing hidden World War II-era bunkers, Season Six seems to be paving the way for Warzone‘s integration with Vanguard. It has been confirmed that Call of Duty: Warzone‘s upcoming map Pacific will be set in WWII, taking players to a lush and massive island. The new location will presumably replace Verdansk, with the map’s destruction in Season Six likely leading into this transition. Pacific will feature jungles, caves, and small towns, making it quite distinct from Verdansk’s largely urban locales.

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War and Warzone‘s Season Six looks to be a climactic conclusion to everything that has come before. The season’s narrative will tie up many loose ends, with a confrontation between Adler and Stitch alongside the return of Alex Mason. Black Ops Cold War‘s Zombies mode will also be concluded, though the storyline will be continued in Vanguard‘s own Zombies mode. With a huge host of new additions to both titles, fans of Call of Duty should be gearing up for Season Six’s launch on October 7.

Call of Duty: Warzone is available for PS4, Xbox One, and PC. Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is available on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S and PC.
