Celebrity Big Brother 3: Julie Chen Reveals ‘Two Evictions’ Per Week

Longtime host Julie Chen claims that Celebrity Big Brother 3 will be the “fastest season of any Big Brother ever” and says that fans should expect multiple evictions every single week. A brand-new season of Celebrity Big Brother is just getting started in February 2022, and Julie Chen is already making sure that fans can “expect the unexpected” – perhaps more than ever before. The CBB3 cast has finally been announced and it features 11 high-profile houseguests.

The format of Celebrity Big Brother has stayed the same for the past two seasons of the American edition, and it seems like the show is mostly staying the same for CBB3. The season 3 grand prize will keep being $250,000 and the cast will feature 11 famous contestants once again. With that said, it wouldn’t be Big Brother without a twist, or two, or three, or even more. Now, it seems like Celebrity Big Brother 3 will speed things up in a truly unprecedented way.

During an interview with Us Weekly, host Julie Chen revealed that Celebrity Big Brother season 3 will be the “fastest season of any Big Brother ever” and that producers “are evicting two celebrities every week, at least.” There have been Double Evictions on Big Brother, and even Triple Evictions – but never on a weekly basis like Julie is hinting at with this statement. Viewers should be reminded that these Celebrity seasons only last a month, but the two previous seasons of CBB didn’t feature two evictions per week nonetheless. It is particularly jarring that two famous contestants will be evicted every week considering that each celebrity on CBB is paid a reported $100,000 just for being in the cast.

Judging by the overall theme and game rules of Big Brother 23 in 2021, however, it appears that producers have been putting a bigger emphasis on forcing the houseguests to take risks and play the game while competing on the show. Therefore, the pressure of evicting two contestants every week might contribute to these celebrities wanting to fight a little bit harder to stay in the BB house and potentially get to the end. There are a few athletes in the Celebrity Big Brother season 3 cast – Lamar Odom, Miesha Tate, and Mirai Nagasu – as well as reality TV veterans like Carson Kressley, Cynthia Bailey, Teddi Mellencamp, and Todrick Hall. This could amount to a much more competitive season of CBB than the past two.

Fans have been waiting for Celebrity Big Brother season 3 for two years. After CBB2 aired in 2019, the COVID-19 pandemic ended up canceling CBB3 in both 2020 and 2021. Despite the long delay, though, Celebrity Big Brother is finally back on TV.
