Following the premiere of Celebrity Big Brother season 3, fans anticipating watching the cast unfiltered were met with disappointment after Paramount+ postponed access to the live feeds. The feeds have been a staple for Big Brother fans since season 1, giving a 24/7 live view into the house as the gameplay and drama unfolds. Paramount+ has been the home for all Big Brother content, including the live feeds, since its rebrand from CBS All Access in 2021. But Paramount+ fell flat on its original Big Brother promise to give subscribers immediate access to the celebs after the season 3 premiere.

SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY

The Celebrity Big Brother 3 cast includes 11 famous houseguests ranging from former NBA star and Khloe Kardashian’s ex Lamar Odom, NSYNC band member Chris Kirkpatrick, reality TV stars Cynthia Bailey and Carson Kressley, and more. Unlike on Big Brother All-Stars and Big Brother 23, the most recent editions of the show, this cast was given the celebrity treatment. The Celebrity Big Brother 3 contestants were given one week to move into the house before the cameras turned on for live feeders to watch their every move. This disappointed fans who got accustomed to the past two seasons of Big Brother, which featured a live move-in and immediate access to the feeds. While casual fans of the show may be unaware, every superfan knows the impact the first week has on the rest of the game, especially with the accelerated 30-day schedule of Celebrity Big Brother.

For days leading up to the Celebrity Big Brother 3 premiere, Paramount+ hyped fans up with a countdown to the second of when the live feeds would finally turn on. Minutes before the first episode ended, the countdown was taken down, and afterward, a tweet was released by Paramount+ saying, “We can’t wait for you to see all the real-time action inside the BIG BROTHER House! The Live Feeds are delayed. Please check back Friday for an update. In the meantime, relive all the drama from the season premiere on Paramount+.”

This delay of the live feeds adds to the first week that viewers missed seeing the famous houseguests start the season. It doesn’t guarantee access to the feeds on Friday either, merely saying they’ll provide an update on that day. In the first week of the Big Brother All-Stars live feeds, The Committee alliance was formed with Cody Calafiore, who went on to dominate and win the game. In the first minutes of the Big Brother 23 feeds, the idea of The Cookout alliance was formulated, which contributed to Xavier Prather’s victory, the original show’s first Black winner.

It’s almost impossible to fit all of the strategy and commotion of Big Brother in the one-hour edited episodes, so long-time fans remain eager to watch the live feeds for an accurate portrayal all of the action. Instead of ending the live feed countdown minutes before its expected start, Paramount+ could’ve informed their paying subscribers of the delayed start date–unless there was an unexpected hiccup. Speculation by fans has begun. Has someone on the cast contracted COVID-19, which could shut down production? Has a celebrity already had a meltdown and quit the game? Paramount+ will have to come up with an answer to questioning fans soon about the status of the Celebrity Big Brother live feeds.
