Channing Tatum tries to save Sandra Bullock in a new Lost City trailer that comes ahead of its premiere at the Super Bowl this Sunday. The adventure rom-com centers on Loretta Sage, a reclusive and bestselling romance-adventure novelist who is kidnapped by billionaire and international criminal Fairfax who believes she can lead him to the titular ancient location home to a legendary treasure. Hoping to become a real hero, Loretta’s book cover model Alan decides to head into the jungle to rescue her, putting them on a path for danger and an adventure much like the ones the former has made a living on.

SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY

Alongside Tatum and Bullock, the cast for The Lost City includes Daniel Radcliffe as Fairfax, Da’Vine Joy Randolph, Patti Harrison, Oscar Nuñez, Raymond Lee, Bowen Yang and Brad Pitt. Development on the film was first announced in late 2020 as Bullock signed on to star in the film, previously titled The Lost City of D, with future Masters of the Universe duo Aaron and Adam Nee set to direct with a script from Seth Gordon and Dana Fox. With production having run from May to August 2021, The Lost City is gearing up to hit theaters in March and the studio is looking to keep anticipation high for the film.

Ahead of it airing at the NFL championship this Sunday, Paramount Pictures has unveiled The Lost City Super Bowl trailer. The video sees Tatum’s cover model Alan trying to save Bullock’s novelist Loretta from Daniel Radcliffe’s eccentric billionaire Fairfax. Check out the exciting trailer below:

The Lost City Super Bowl trailer doesn’t offer much in the way of new footage for the adventure rom-com, but it does nicely highlight the comedic chemistry between Tatum and Bullock as the unlikely lead duo. The video also once again highlights Brad Pitt’s humorous cameo as a handsome CIA agent sent to rescue Loretta, a role that has drawn much attention for the self-aware writing for the character. Additionally, the trailer offers a good look at the anti-action hero nature of Tatum’s book cover model in the film, a change of pace from his breakout work in the Jump Street and G.I. Joe franchises.

The arrival of the Lost City Super Bowl trailer does come at an interesting time given there are still three days remaining until the NFL championship kicks off. Though Paramount could ultimately debut a different reel of footage for the rom-com during the game, the expensive price tag for Super Bowl ads and marketing in general does create a point of curiosity to the decision to reveal the trailer early and whether new footage will air. Only time will tell when the Super Bowl airs on Sunday and The Lost City hits theaters on March 25.
