Cheryl Hole Explains What Sent Her Home on Drag Race UK V.S World

After fans watched one of the three competitors representing the British spin-off of the franchise exit, Cheryl Hole explains the events that led up to her unfortunate elimination on RuPaul’s Drag Race UK V.S. the World. Though the Essex-based queen failed to win a maxi challenge during her first time competing on Drag Race UK season one, her star quality almost granted her a spot in the top three. Her memorable run on the first season granted her an invitation to compete with the best of each international series of World of Wonder’s Emmy-winning reality tv franchise.

In 2019, BBC Three brought the best of the best queens from across the pond to for the title of UK’s Next Drag Superstar and $100,000. Cheryl Hole entered the ‘werk’ room with a bodysuit with black fringe and a dream of taking home the crown.  Throughout the season, she ended up lipsyncing for her life twice, with performances worthy enough to mark her as the lip-sync assassin among many fans.

Following her elimination, Cherly spoke with Gay Times to expand on what went wrong for her on episode 2 of the newest addition to the Drag Race phenomenon. She said that, with three girls competing from Drag Race UK, there was a slim chance that each one of them would make it to the finale. “. . .  it’s the nature of the game. We were three queens from the UK. In all honesty, there was no way these queens were going to keep all three of us until the end. Unfortunately, I was collateral damage.” She goes on about the “nature of the game”, stating that All-Stars seasons don’t always give queens an opportunity to prove themselves by lip-syncing for their life like they would in a normal season of Drag Race. Her impending exit from the show became more apparent for her when she realized that queens had to choose between her and four-time competitor American Jujibee for elimination. “In the moment I was devastated that my time had come to the end but I was in the bottom with somebody who is such a powerhouse, so I kind of felt it in the waters.”
