Chicago PD’s Halstead Shares Sweet BTS Photo Ahead Of Season 10 Exit

Jesse Lee Soffer shares a Chicago PD season 10 behind-the-scenes image ahead of his exit as Detective Jay Halstead. Filming for the new season of the One Chicago franchise started several weeks ago, so viewers have started to get some idea of what to expect from the new episodes. For Chicago PD, several photos show Hank Voight’s Intelligence back in action after its successful takedown of Javier Escano and his notorious Los Temidos gang.

Unfortunately, what’s going to be a monumental year for the police procedural will also be bittersweet. After almost a decade, Soffer will exit Chicago PD sometime in the fall. The news was shocking to many viewers of the series since Halstead is the most veteran member of Voight’s Intelligence. Luckily, as the Chicago PD season 10 premiere nears, Soffer appears to be savoring his limited time on the show with his co-stars.

Taking to his official Instagram account, Soffer shared an image of himself with fellow cast members Jason Beghe and Tracy Spiridakos. The actor doesn’t give any context regarding what they are working on. Instead, he just shared two heart emojis in the caption. Check out the photo below:

It’s difficult to decipher what’s going on in the scene the three co-stars are filming, and it’s also possible they are just sharing a break between takes. That being said, the background reveals that the trio is at the police station back lot. Whatever they are doing could be something in relation toChicago PD setting up Halstead’s exit. At this point, details regarding how the character will be written out of the police procedural are still scant, but it would make sense for him to spend significant time with two of the closest people in his life. Aside from being her partner, Halstead also recently married Upton in season 9. Meanwhile, despite their tumultuous relationship, Voight has been Halstead’s mentor and boss for the last decade.

Unfortunately, the character’s final days in the One Chicago show won’t be drama-free. According to the official synopsis for the Chicago PD season 10 premiere, Voight and Halstead will once again butt heads. Chances are that it will have something to do with the death of Anna Avalos in the season 9 finale. The first footage for the episode backs this up as it shows Voight still struggling with the loss of his civilian informant. He is consumed with grief that he is dangerously close to losing Intelligence. It will be interesting to see how this new issue is resolved, especially since Chicago PD has limited time with Halstead.
