Chris Hemsworth would love to reunite with Thor’s roommate, Darryl, for a Team Thor mockumentary TV show. Back in 2016, after the events in Captain America: Civil War and before the release of Thor: Ragnarok, Marvel Studios released a short film titled Team Thor, directed by Taika Waititi, showing what the God of Thunder was up to while his teammates were busy fighting.

In it, we learned that Thor decided to take a break in Australia and spend some time with a mortal, so he moved in with a local, an office worker named Darryl. The short was so well received by both audiences and critics that it had two sequels: Team Thor 2 and Team Darryl, the latter featuring Jeff Goldblum as the Grandmaster. A lot has happened in the Marvel Cinematic Universe since those Thor and Darryl days, but Hemsworth would like to go back to that at some point.

In an interview with MTV International during the press tour for Avengers: Endgame, Hemsworth was asked if he would be up for a Marvel TV show based on Team Thor/Darryl. Hemsworth shared he would love to do that and show the “day-to-day adventures” of this unusual but very special pair. He said:

I’d love to do that. I’d love to see Darryl more. I’d love to do a mockumentary TV show of us living together and rooming together and our day to day adventures outside of saving the world, just sort of the regular stuff. I thought that was a lot of fun to shoot and also I think it’d be cool to have a TV show like that, yeah. Surfing, fishing, we go to a pub. It’d be good fun.

Avengers: Endgame will be the last film for some of the original Avengers (for contractual reasons), including Hemsworth – though that doesn’t necessarily mean something deathly will happen to Thor. Some members of the original Avengers roster already have their post-Endgame future solved, such as Black Widow with her solo film and now Hawkeye with his own series, but Thor’s future is uncertain… For now, at least.

However, that uncertainty is no obstacle for Hemsworth, who already has some projects coming up after Endgame. We will see him alongside his Thor: Ragnarok co-star Tessa Thompson in Men in Black: International, to be released this summer, and he recently finished filming Dhaka, directed by Sam Hargrave and written by Endgame co-director, Joe Russo.

It’s unknown if characters like Thor, Captain America, and Iron Man will appear in future MCU films, but in case they don’t, a Thor/Darryl mockumentary would be a special (and very fun) way of saying “goodbye” to this universe and the fans that have followed the Asgardian God’s journey through all these years – and if they can get Waititi back as director and producer, all the better.
