The My Hero Academia season 6 trailer has dropped, showing heroes and villains alike gearing up for battle. The incredibly popular anime was first released back in 2016 and it’s based on a manga of the same name, which was first published two years prior. The manga is written and illustrated by Kōhei Horikoshi, with the anime sticking very closely to his original works.

This beloved series has multiple spin-off manga, movies, video games, and even a stage play based on the show. MHA starts off by following Izuku Midoriya (Daiki Yamashita/Justin Briner), a teen who dreams of being a hero in a world where almost everyone has superpowers (quirks) although he was born without any. The series jumps to a start after the pro hero All Might (Kenta Miyake/Christopher Sabat) passes his quirk on to Midoriya, helping him to get into UA high school and start training to become a hero.

Toho and Bones are quickly working on producing My Hero Academia season 6, releasing the trailer just 3 months after its renewal was confirmed, which happened before season 5 even finished airing. Throughout the trailer, the characters are seen preparing as an “all-out war approaches.” It seems both pro heroes and students are going to be involved in the conflict. After the League of Villains merged with the Meta Liberation Army to form the Paranormal Liberation Front last season, MHA‘s hero students have a big challenge ahead of them. While the anime has always been very similar to the manga, season 5 drifted off slightly when it switched around the order of certain events. In the manga, the Endeavor Agency Arc happens after the War Arc; however, the sequence of things was switched to fit in better with the anime. The second half of season 5 focused on the villains, letting fans see their perspective, before shifting back over to the heroes for the closing of the season. The last episode teases what’s to come in season 6 with a post-credit clip of Class 1A looking over a cliff at a city full of villains, tasked with evacuating civilians.

In this upcoming season, fans will get to see the results of Dr. Kyudai Garaki’s (Minoru Inaba/Mark Stoddard) four-month-long experimentation on Shigaraki (Kōki Uchiyama/Eric Vale). At the end of the trailer, there’s a glimpse of Shigaraki with his white hair recovering from whatever torture he’s endured to gain more power. With this release a few days ago, the dubbed trailers will surely be soon to follow. My Hero Academia season 6 is set for a fall 2022 release, and with manga chapters still being pumped out, for the time being, it’s unlikely that it will be the last.
