Getting around Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Firebase Z can be tricky to get the hang of, but there are some secrets and shortcuts the player might not know. For example, it’s possible to get to the roof with the teleporter in The Villiage without opening any doors. There are also some movement tricks/glitches and optimal paths the player can use to get around.

Firebase Z has four main open areas: Helipad, Open Lot, Barracks, and Motor Pool. Before turning on the power, the only way to travel between locations is through Helipad. However, if the player activates the Aether reactors in a specific order, they can save themselves time and precious points. This guide will cover the most cost-effective order to open doors in, as well as the fastest routes for getting around the map.

How to Teleport Without Opening Doors in Cold War Zombies Firebase Z

While in The Villiage, the player can get to the teleporter on the roof without opening the door to Equipment Storage or activating the power. To do this, the player needs to go up the ramp by the blue zombie window at the southeastern section of Courtyard and face the ledge going into Peck’s Quarters. To complete the jump, hug the sandbags, sprint, and jump right before hitting the top of the ramp. To get to the teleporter, turn east, jump to the small metal roof, then jump up the bloody ledge to the teleporter. This may take a couple of tries to get down, but it can save a significant amount of time and provide an exit if the hoards become overwhelming.

The most cost-effective order to open doors to turn on the power is in the following order:

  • Helipad into Open Lot
  • Open Lot into Mission Control
  • Mission Control through Scorched Defence to Data Center (and it’s free)
  • Data Center to Weapon Lab (Grab the first piece of the RAI K-84 here!)

Alternatively, the player can start by opening the door to Motor Pool and travel through Skybridge to Mission Control and continue to Data Center. To get some extra points, the player can collect the Loose Change bonus by going prone in front of any of the perks. The fastest way between any of the power areas will be via jump pad. There are six total Jump Pads, two around each Aether Generator. To travel between Motor Pool, Barracks, and Open Lot, it will almost always be fastest to go through Helipad.

How to Slide Boost in Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Zombies

Instead of vaulting over fences and ledges, if the player times a jump over the ledge right, they can slide and get a significant boost in their jump distance and speed. Firebase Z is considerably more spread out than Die Machine, so once the player needs to travel across the map more frequently, these tips will become increasingly useful.

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC, and Last-Gen.
