Call of Duty: Mobile‘s season 1 Desperado class will add Shield Turrets to battle royale. Since launching in 2019, Call of Duty: Mobile has become a major player in mobile gaming, earning hundreds of millions in its first year alone. Many have praised how similar it is to the original game.

A new season of Call of Duty: Mobile, titled “New Order,” is slated for release later this week. It promises to be an exciting addition to the franchise. Luckily for gamers who are itching to get their fingers flying for another year of Call of Duty: Mobile, the new season will also bring a brand new class, Desperado.

According to Call of Duty: Mobile‘s Twitter account, the Desperado class will allow Call of Duty: Mobile players to be “an offensive defender” and to “get back into the fight with Last Stand!“The Desperado class will also feature a familiar piece of equipment and perk from the Call of Duty series.

First up, the class will feature the Shield Turret as its equipment bonus. Long-time Call of Duty fans will recognize the Shield Turret as a killstreak in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, but it also exists as a scorestreak in Call of Duty: Mobile‘s multiplayer mode. The scorestreak was added to Call of Duty: Mobile as part of the season 9 Conquest update last year. The turret is able to be deployed throughout the map, providing cover to the player operating it. The turret has unlimited ammo and the shield on the front provides cover from enemy gunfire.

However, the shield does not protect the turret itself. With only 130 HP, the turret is actually quite susceptible to enemy attacks and can be destroyed rather easily. If the enemy can survive the shower of gunfire, that is. The second attribute the Desperado class will feature is the Last Stand perk. Last Stand is a perk that has existed in Call of Duty and dates all the way back to Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare. It was featured in games throughout the series.

Last Stand grants the player one last opportunity for vengeance when they have taken lethal damage. Traditionally, with the perk equipped, the player would fall down instead of dying upon taking lethal damage and pull out a pistol with max ammo. They will not be able to move or swap weapons, but will be able to shoot any enemy until the pistol runs out of ammo, the timer on the perk expires, or they’re hit by an explosion or killstreak. In Call of Duty: Mobile, this appears to be similar to how the Last Stand perk will work. However, one major difference appears to be that a player may be able to be revived if they secure a kill with the pistol. This should add an exciting new element to the upcoming season.
