A Call of Duty: Warzone cheating website is offering a free trial weekend to fans, which could cause a lot of headaches for non-hacker players soon. Screen Rant has opted to not name the website in question, but users should be weary if they choose to play Warzone this weekend as it will likely be heavily populated with troublemakers and those who seemingly lack the skill to play without cheating.

As a franchise, Call of Duty has a huge cheating issue at present, and it seems to have partially stemmed from Warzone being free-to-play and the franchise’s embrace of crossplay. While certainly not the first, the franchise was one of the earliest major premium AAA titles to embrace the concept on a large scale, and players were and remain onboard with the deicision. That said, it has also made console players aware of cheaters largely (but not exclusively) trickling in from the PC crowd. As cheat developers continue to grow and monetize their hacks, it has now gotten to the point where one cheat seller is openly offering a free trial for its software.

Twitter user ModernWarzone warned players that a free trial for a Warzone hack is ongoing, which will likely lead to an increase in hackers in the game. This comes off the heels of the recent development of an advanced machine learning Call of Duty hack, which has since caught the attention of Activision. The Call of Duty publisher hasn’t made any public statement regarding the aforementioned hacking software, but did take down a video advertising it on YouTube. It’s possible the company could take legal action against both sets of cheat sellers, just as it has for other hacking services.

The Warzone hacking issue continues to spiral out of control, resulting in many fans starting to lose patience with Activision. The series doesn’t seem to have a very effective anti-cheat software to battle all of the cheaters out there, as it seems to be all-too-frequent in modern Call of Duty. Even though the developer has proudly stated that there have been over 500,000 Call of Duty account bans, there’s still no shortage of cheaters in lobbies.

With reports already suggesting Call of Duty 2021 is a bit of a mess, it’s just one more issue that Activision needs to solve. Whether or not the publisher will take care of the matter in a more proactive way remains to be seen. For right now, those hoping to play Call of Duty: Warzone this week may want to stay away or be on their toes, as it seems it will be even more cheater-filled than normal.
