There are many items around Cozy Grove that players can farm and gather each day as they are completing their daily tasks for the spirit bear residents who inhabit the island. Players can fish, collect Shells and Flowers. They can also find ingredients used to craft tools, furniture, and other useful trinkets, as well as to cook food. With so much to craft and collect, inventory management can become more difficult, as it tends to be in calm life simulations like Cozy Grove. It can be difficult to tell what should be kept and what can be sold to make money and purchase new items from Mr. Kit, the camp’s shopkeeper.

When players collect items, they have a few options for what to do with them. They can donate one to Captain Snout’s collection and earn money. They can also store it, either in their personal inventory or in their inventory with Flamey. They can also sell to Mr. Kit. Of course, there is also the option to use the item as an ingredient in a crafting recipe or to fulfill a request by a resident. Here’s how players can decide what items to keep in Cozy Grove, and what can be safely sold for money.

How to Decide What to Keep & Sell in Cozy Grove

Similar to the Museum in Animal Crossing, Captain Snout in Cozy Grove keeps a collection of every species and artifact found on and around the island. Like in Animal Crossing, the first time players collect a new item, they should make sure to donate it to Captain Snout’s collection. This can include:

  • Fish
  • Flowers
  • Shells
  • Cooking Ingredients
  • Crafting Ingredients
  • Cooked Meals

Many items can be burned by Flamey to create a separate variant of the item, which should also be donated to Captain Snout. He will trade the player money, quartz gemstones, or new recipes for their donations.

With that out of the way, players may want to sell duplicate items to Mr. Kit to get rid of them and make some quick money to buy things they want from the Shop. It may be a good idea to wait, however, and create a small stash of certain items at Flamey’s storage. Available resources and resource-gathering spots change each day in Cozy Grove. Sometimes, a spirit bear resident will ask players to get them an item that can’t be found that day. Because some Cozy Grove quests are timed, and some are reliant on the completion of other quests, not having an item on hand can cause players to miss out on rewards.

Flamey’s storage inventory will count when a player goes to turn in quest items for the bears. This means players won’t even need to transfer items from storage to their inventory and can instead seamlessly turn things in without taking up extra item slots. As players progress the story and learn which items are frequently available in Cozy Grove and which ones are rare, they can determine what to prioritize placing in storage rather than selling. Players will upgrade storage capacity with Flamey each time they upgrade their tent so they can begin to store more resources.

Once players have made donations to Captain Snout and placed rarer items in storage with Flamey, they can decide to sell duplicates of more abundant resources. They can also combine some of these items in crafting recipes and sell the resulting product, as crafted items tend to earn more money than the individual resources will.

It is also a good idea to recycle some quartz gemstones when players need fast cash. Quartz gemstones can be recycled by speaking to Francesca. However, players should be careful about recycling too many, as quartz sometimes necessary for purchasing items.
