AT&T CEO John Stankey confirms that Larry David’s acclaimed comedy series Curb Your Enthusiasm season 11 will release by the end of 2021. Created by and starring David, the series centers on a fictionalized version of the comic and TV writer as he lives a semi-retired life in Los Angeles. The comedy sees Larry frequently falling into social pitfalls due to his own ineptitude and inability to let any annoyance or grievance go unknown.

Alongside David, the cast for the series includes Cheryl Hines as his wife Cheryl, Jeff Garlin as his manager and best friend Jeff Greene, Susie Essman as Jeff’s wife Susie and J.B. Smoove as Leon Black, Larry’s friend and housemate. Curb Your Enthusiasm has received rave reviews since its debut in 2000, earning 38 Emmy nominations and remaining just as popular with its season 9 premiere after a six-year hiatus. This success has continued with season 10 earning a Primetime Emmy nomination for Outstanding Comedy Series and scoring a season 11 renewal two months after the finale.

Just over a year after the series was renewed for a new chapter, AT&T CEO Stankey confirmed (via The Wrap) during a second-quarter earnings call that Curb Your Enthusiasm will return to HBO for season 11 later this year. Many of the previous seasons have premiered in either September or October, so that may be the timeframe for which they’re aiming. The network head also revealed that Love Life season 2 will also premiere on HBO Max by the end of the year.

Having just survived a year full of cringeworthy moments, the return of David’s Curb Your Enthusiasm should come as a bright spot for the future. Following the rollercoaster of uncertainty regarding fan-favorite recurring star Richard Lewis’ return, it will be intriguing to see what recurring actors can return and what new guest stars will be seen. Given prior seasons have seen everyone from Jon Hamm to Martin Scorsese to Judge Judy make appearances, there’s no telling who David enlists for the next chapter.

Additionally, it will be interesting to see what timely topics Curb Your Enthusiasm season 11 decides to focus its uniquely branded humor on. With season 10 having explored the topics of #MeToo and the social implications of donning a MAGA cap, David is certainly happy to explore any topic, no matter how uncomfortable it may be. Only time will tell when season 11 premieres sometime later this year. Though it’s unclear when exactly Curb Your Enthusiasm will return, with little more than five months left in 2021, an official season 11 premiere date should be announced relatively soon.
