Cyberpunk 2077 is full of awe-inspiring futuristic tech. Players can roll around in slick cars and wield some pretty intense weaponry. With its long-awaited release, players around the world will be sinking their teeth into the seedy underground of Cyberpunk’s future. There’s no shortage of ways to bend the rules in Cyberpunk 2077. Hacking into various tech will help cut a few corners.

Hacking has been a major component of many different video games. Players remember Fallout’s hacking mechanics as they try to guess the passwords for post-apocalyptic computer terminals. Anybody who played the Watch Dogs games is all too familiar with how detrimental a good hacker can be to anything computer-based. Players will need to master the art if they plan on getting a leg up in the future. This guide will walk players through all the tips, tricks, and strategies they need to hack in Cyberpunk 2077.

Cyberpunk – How to Hack

Hacking is the most important element of survival in Cyberpunk, no matter which lifepath players choose. The Player’s ability to scan their environment for helpful and hack-able tech will keep V concealed and alive. Daunting at first, Hacking can seem like a confusing process that players would rather solve with hot lead. But don’t be so quick to pull that trigger, Hacking will make life far easier in Cyberpunk 2077.

Possibly the most useful thing players can do when hacking is disabling cameras. It’s easier to get out of an enemy’s line of sight, but cameras will be V’s worst nightmare. Camera’s are another reason why Breaching is so important, because cracking into one may allow V to disable them all.

V can also use hacking to damage or hinder enemies from a distance. With everyone having bio-tech eye implants in Night City, it’s no wonder V has such an easy time blinding them for short amounts of time. Use this hack when there are no other means of distracting enemies. Blinding one enemy can prevent them from seeing V assassinate another.

Cyberpunk 2077 – Breaching

The number one thing players will want to get good at is Breaching. Breaching pulls up a screen similar to the image above. Players will be given a short amount of time to crack the code and unlock different buffs associated with that piece of tech. Breaching will cost 0 RAM and can be done quickly once its mechanics are understood.

Breaching works similarly to Sudoko (please bear with us). The first input players will choose is in the first row or column. The highlighted area will indicate that. Once players have selected an Input, Row 1 – 1C in the case above, they’ll have to select their next input from that column. This will go back and forth, row-column-row-column until the code is cracked or failed.

Below is an answer key of how to properly crack the above code. Players can crack all codes given if the right sequence is put in. (Thus giving them Ice Pick and Mass Vulnerability in the example below) 1C is the first input for Ice Pick. 55 is the second input for Ice Pick as wells as the first input for Mass Vulnerability.

Breaching will allow players to hack more items with their given RAM pool. It can also link certain tech pieces together and show how they work in tandem (i.e., security cameras and turrets). Players can hack things like TV’s, AC units, and floodlights to distract enemies.

Now that players know how to hack in Cyberpunk 2077, they’ll be able to unlock a handful of new avenues to head down. Be careful; those avenues, both proverbial and literal, are full of danger. Perhaps players will have to hack their way out of sticky situations as the game continues. Remember, Hacking is a great way to level up Street Cred in Cyberpunk 2077.

Cyberpunk 2077 is available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, and Next-Gen.
