For a limited time only, PlayStation and Xbox owners can purchase Cyberpunk 2077 for just $5 at Best Buy. Those who’ve yet to pick up the open-world title can’t go wrong with a sale price, especially after Cyberpunk 2077’s transformative 1.5 update. The massive patch went live several weeks ago in mid-February, most notably serving as the next-gen update for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S. In addition, the changes introduced new missions and gigs, giving even lapsed players another reason to return to the neon-drenched world of Night City.

Patch 1.5 had been a long time coming, with developer CD Projekt Red originally promising a 2021 release. The delay proved worth it in the end, though. On top of brand-new missions, the update in question also adjusted the in-game economy, improved loot-based systems, unlocked more apartments for protagonist V, and finally added a hairdressing mirror. Suffice it to say, Cyberpunk 2077 is now worth playing for anyone who decided to wait following its disastrous launch on consoles and PC in December 2020.

SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY

As spotted by IGN, retailer Best Buy is currently running a video game sale that drops the PS4 and Xbox One versions of Cyberpunk 2077 down from $29.99 to $5. Yes, only $5. The sale will last for a very limited amount of time, though, with a countdown on the website noting that this particular deal will come to an end in approximately 15 hours at the time of writing. Anyone still interested in exploring both the high life and the underbelly of Cyberpunk 2077’s Night City should act fast if they want to take advantage of the reduced price.

Grabbing Cyberpunk 2077 for $5 is nothing short of an absolute steal. This especially holds true when considering the sheer amount of free content that developer CD Projekt Red added to the role-playing title in the aforementioned 1.5 update. The studio’s future plans for the experience should make the $5 entry price well worth it in the long run, as well.

Admittedly, what those future plans may entail presently remains a mystery. Upon announcing the next Witcher game’s use of Unreal Engine 5, CDPR clarified that Cyberpunk 2077’s story expansion would still run on the proprietary REDengine technology. The announcement came via a Twitter post with the wording “upcoming Cyberpunk 2077 expansion” attached, leading many to believe that only one paid DLC release is in the works instead of the multiple expansions that were previously teased. As of writing, the company has yet to clear the air in this regard.

Cyberpunk 2077 is playable on Google Stadia, PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S platforms.
