CD Projekt Red is preparing to release Cyberpunk 2077‘s biggest update to date, according to wording featured in a leaked advertisement. The drama surrounding Cyberpunk 2077’s disastrous 2020 launch has yet to come to an end. In fairness, though, great strides are being made, even if they seem slow-moving from the outside looking in.

A slew of transformative updates for the title have gone live in the several months since its release, addressing game-breaking glitches, stability issues, graphical hitches, and everything in between. Sony even reinstated Cyberpunk 2077 on the PlayStation Store following its lengthy and unprecedented absence from the digital marketplace. However, such a return came with a warning from the platform-holder that only PS4 Pro and PlayStation 5 owners should actually try playing the RPG. This indicated to many that even Sony felt uncertain about the title’s performance capabilities, though CD Projekt Red later claimed Cyberpunk 2077’s stability has reached a “satisfactory” level.

SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY

PC-centric website DSOGaming spotted a leaked ad for Cyberpunk 2077, which insists the “biggest update yet” is incoming. Reportedly, the advertisement in question – a short video – first appeared on sites such as Instagram and YouTube. A yellow card that reads “The Biggest Update Yet” opens the quick clip. After a few seconds of well-known cinematic and gameplay footage cycles by, another yellow card appears on screen with “And There’s More To Come!” written out. At the time of writing, CD Projekt Red has yet to formally acknowledge the teaser-filled ad.

Presumably, this means a major update of some kind will go live in the very near future. And by most accounts, the sci-fit adventure needs it. For one, numerous bugs and issues still plague Cyberpunk 2077 on last-gen hardware. Moreover, the latest batch fixes have come at a cost, with Night City no longer resembling a bustling metropolis as features like highway traffic have taken a significant hit. Here’s to hoping the supposed major patch will address all of the above.

The leaked ad’s brief “more to come” line, on the other hand, could constitute a hint about previously promised free DLC. It may also reference the long-awaited upgrades for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S consoles, which currently boast a launch window of late 2021.

Cyberpunk 2077 is available to play via PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.
