Cyberpunk 2077 players have been complaining about the buggy and difficult driving mechanics since the game’s launch, and developer CD Projekt Red addressed these problems in a unique way: by making street races almost impossible to lose. Since its December 10th launch, Cyberpunk 2077 has been plagued with bad press over numerous issues including game-breaking bugs, poor performance on last-gen consoles, and corrupted save files. While CD Projekt Red has promised to fix most of these issues in an upcoming patch, for now players can expect a buggy win in The Beast In Me’s various street races.

Driving in Cyberpunk 2077 is challenging, to say the least. On consoles, low FPS rates cause severe blurriness, making it nearly impossible to navigate around Night City. Most of the vehicles themselves are incredibly difficult to steer because of sluggish controls, and NPC cars spawn and de-spawn in the middle of the road, both of which cause frequent accidents.

These issues can lead some players to approach The Beast In Me’s car racing objectives with a bit of trepidation. The Beast In Me is a side job in Cyberpunk 2077 given by Claire, a garage owner who invites players to participate in a series of street races. These races are unexpectedly easy to win, however, because Cyberpunk 2077 seemingly rigs the races in the player’s favor.

Cyberpunk 2077 Cheats To Make Things Easier

During the street races in Cyberpunk 2077, players have noticed their opponents driving in peculiar ways. The AI drivers frequently crash into each other, lampposts, buildings, and other obstacles, or will drive off bridges and overpasses. The AI opponents also take corners absurdly slow, braking way too early and giving players plenty of time to pull ahead.

Perhaps the oddest behavior exhibited by Cyberpunk 2077’s AI racers is teleportation. Players have complained of being in first place, only to have an opponent teleport in front of them at the last moment to win the race. More frequently, though, the NPC opponents who are winning the race will inexplicably teleport behind the player, allowing for an easy victory.

Despite the frustrating driving mechanics that have led many players to resort to traveling Night City on foot, Cyberpunk 2077 found a way to ensure an easy victory for players competing in The Beast In Me’s street races. The combination of strange AI behavior and glitches are just one example of the odd experiences players are having as they navigate what seems to be an unfinished game.
