The Da Vinci Code prequel series, The Lost Symbol, has a release date. Originally developed as a pilot for NBC, the drama series is based on Dan Brown’s best-selling novel of the same name. Earlier this year, Peacock announced that it had given a series order to The Da Vinci Code prequel series, formerly titled Langdon. Starring Ashley Zukerman (HBO’s Succession) as Robert Langdon, the series will focus on the early adventures of the titular character. Recently, Peacock unveiled the first trailer for The Lost Symbol, which showed Robert Langdon on a perilous mission to decipher historic symbols. Now, The Lost Symbol has a release date.

Peacock released the new trailer for The Lost Symbol, and revealed that the series will premiere Thursday, September 16. Penned by Dan Dworkin and Jay Beattie, The Lost Symbol will center on the young Harvard symbologist, who finds himself thrust into an unnerving conspiracy after the kidnapping of his mentor. Starring Valorie Curry, Eddie Izzard, Sumalee Montano, and Beau Knapp, The Lost Symbol will broadcast new episodes weekly. Check out the new trailer for The Lost Symbol below:

Of course, The Lost Symbol shows promise of staying true to the source material while offering a fresh slate for the creative team to flesh out the adventures of Robert Langdon. The series is produced by Brown, Brian Grazer, and Ron Howard – who directed the film adaptations starring Tom Hanks. Originally, The Lost Symbol was slated to become the next blockbuster film in the Robert Langdon adventures, but creative forces opted for Inferno instead. Peacock subscribers can look forward to seeing a young Robert crack the code in The Lost Symbol on September 16.
