Daredevil & Elektra vs. Green Arrow & Black Canary: Who’d Win

It’s hard to maintain a relationship as a superhero, especially when you’re a street-level vigilante; Elektra‘s romance with Daredevil and Green Arrow‘s relationship with Black Canary prove this point. These Marvel and DC heroes have run into several rocky roads in their costumed adventures. Nonetheless, these couples always keep their head in the game when working together. With this said, who would win in a fight—the Emerald Archer and the Bird of Prey, or the Devil of Hell’s Kitchen and the Master Assassin?

Matt Murdock first met Elektra Natchios at Columbia University during Frank Miller’s Daredevil run. Even though Elektra was under orders by the Hand to recruit Matt to their group of assassins, she fell in love with him and abandoned her mission. When she returned to Hell’s Kitchen after Matt was already Daredevil for quite some time, Matt trusted her with his secret identity. They consistently team up in modern comics and even pick up their romantic relationship from time to time. Daredevil’s radar senses, hand-to-hand skills, and acrobatics combined with Elektra’s assassin instincts, mixed martial arts, and enhanced reflexes make them a dangerous force. However, they sometimes have difficulty working together due to Daredevil’s no-killing rule. Elektra regularly lies to Matt too, which causes trust issues for Marvel’s vigilante couple.

Oliver Queen and Dinah Lance are high-ranking members of the Justice League of America. The first story that featured Geen Arrow and Black Canary as a couple was Mike Grell and Lurene Haines’ Green Arrow: The Longbow Hunters, but the two allegedly met when they first joined the Justice League (which was around the same time). Ollie and Dinah frequently square off against the League of Assassins, making them experts in hand-to-hand combat against the most dangerous martial artists. Despite this, the two are at their strongest from a distance. Ollie is the most skilled archer in any superhero comic book, even ranking above Hawkeye, and Dinah has her trademark Canary Cry, which can kill an opponent if she’s too close. The two don’t have any literal weaknesses, but they sometimes get distracted when the other is in peril.

At the end of the day, which couple has superior skills? Well, in terms of hand-to-hand combat, Daredevil and Elektra easily outrank Green Arrow and Black Canary. Daredevil and Elektra have experience fighting Bullseye, who always aims to kill, meaning a fight with Green Arrow shouldn’t be too much of a challenge for them. However, Ollie’s skills in archery promise some heavy hits. After all, Matt and Elektra have been hit by lesser marksmen before. It will be a close fight for the duos until one key factor comes into play. Simply put, just one scream from Black Canary will leave Daredevil and his sensitive ears down for the count. Elektra would then be alone against Green Arrow and Black Canary, and she probably wouldn’t last very long.

The only way Elektra and Daredevil would win is if they fought in a pitch-black room and Black Canary didn’t have her Canary Cry. Other than this unlikely scenario, the Justice League couple will come out on top every time. It’s crucial to remember Elektra and Matt’s relationship weaknesses too. Green Arrow and Black Canary are rarely dramatic about their disagreements during a mission if they have anything to bring up at all. Elektra and Daredevil will surely give it their all, but all their strength probably wouldn’t even equal a single scream from Black Canary.
