Daredevil season 3 will officially release on Netflix this October. Following the release of The Defenders last summer, Marvel TV and Netflix have been busy building out their corner of the Marvel Cinematic Universe with new seasons for Jessica Jones (which released in March), Luke Cage (which released in June), and Iron Fist (which released earlier this month). And to make things even more interesting, the new season for Daredevil will also release this year, marking the first time that all four shows have released in one year.

Instead of each season for the new shows focusing on just one character, some of them have been bringing in main and side characters from other Marvel TV series to keep the world-building going after the release of The Defenders. But while fans have undoubtedly been excited to see the stories for Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Iron Fist, and even The Punisher continue, people have been wondering when the new season for Netflix’s flagship Marvel series, Daredevil, will see the light of day. It turns out, pretty soon.

Daredevil season 3 is slated to release on Netflix on October 19, thus confirming the recently leaked release date from Netflix Thailand. The release date was announced as part of a teaser trailer (below), along with the debut of the new season’s official poster, which can also be viewed below.

Confirmation of Daredevil‘s season 3 release date couldn’t come at a better time. Netflix is bringing the series, along with the season’s showrunner as well as some of the main cast, to New York Comic Con 2018 early next month to unveil first look footage at the new season, which not only continues the story that left off with the first season of The Defenders but also brings back Vincent D’Onofrio as Wilson Fisk, aka Kingpin. However, it’s worth noting that this season follows the trend set forth by ABC’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. by taking place either concurrently with or before Anthony and Joe Russo’s game-changing Avengers: Infinity War.

What’s interesting about this particular release date is that it comes on the heels of Netflix choosing not to promote the show at San Diego Comic-Con earlier this summer, which caused some fans to believe that the series may not return until after Avengers 4 released in May – but that doesn’t seem to be the case. After this, the next Marvel show on the docket to release on Netflix is The Punisher, which is expected to return for its second season sometime in 2019. But first, fans get their next Marvel TV fix this October.
