Dark Souls 3: Every Estus Shard Location

One of the most important things players need to do in Dark Souls 3 is to find every Estus Shard location within the Kingdom of Lothric. Estus Shards are required for players to upgrade their Estus Flask, similar to how Bone Shards are used to upgrade the Bonfire in Dark Souls 3. There are eleven Estus Shards to find throughout Dark Souls 3, and with so many of them hidden in out-of-the-way locations, it can be challenging to find all shards.

Estus Flasks are one of the key features in Dark Souls 3, as well as any other Dark Souls game because they are the standard healing items. By resting at Bonfires, players can replenish their Estus Flasks so that they may use them once more to heal in between Bonfire locations in Dark Souls 3. Though normally players can only replenish up to five Estus Flasks at a time, using a Humanity to kindle a Bonfire increases the amount of refilled Estus Flasks to 10. To refill more flasks, players will need to find more Estus Shards and be able to use the Rite of Kindling.

After finding Estus Shards, players can turn in the shards at Blacksmith Andre in the Firelink Shrine to obtain more Estus Flasks. Though Dark Souls 3 starts players off with only three Estus Flasks, there are ultimately 15 Estus Flasks that players can carry in total. This includes the one Ash Estus Flask in the initial area of the game, plus the eleven shards found throughout Dark Souls 3, greatly improving Estus.

Every Estus Shard Location In Dark Souls 3

Some of the locations of the Estus Shards are more challenging to find than others in Dark Souls 3. However, with the increasing difficulty of enemies that players face throughout Dark Souls 3, each of the Estus Shards is well worth the find. These are the locations for each of the Estus Shards in Dark Souls 3:

• Estus Shard 1 (Firelink Shrine): Purchase the Tower Key for 20,000 Souls, then head up the tower and drop down on the left side of the bridge. Go into the building and find the Estus Shard on the ledge near Pickle Pee’s nest.
• Estus Shard 2 (Lothric High Wall): From the middle of the tower, go across the roof and into the left-side building. Defeat the enemies in the area, then grab the Estus Shard from the anvil.
• Estus Shard 3 (Undead Settlement): Defeat the Hollow Peasants in the area of the burning tree. Afterward, find the Dark Souls Estus Shard location at the tree’s base.
• Estus Shard 4 (Road of Sacrifices): Head left and kill the four Lycanthrope Hunters, then drop down on the ledge to find the Estus Shard to the left.
• Estus Shard 5 (Farron Keep): Run straight forward from the bonfire and veer left to pass under an archway. Defeat the slugs guarding the Estus Shard and claim it.
• Estus Shard 6 (Cathedral of the Deep): Head towards the cemetery after exiting the chapel to find the Estus Shard on the pathway.
• Estus Shard 7 (Smouldering Lake): Break the illusionary wall on the right, continue down the pathway, and slay the Rotten Flesh enemies to find the Estus Shard.
• Estus Shard 8 (Anor Londo): In the main hall of Anor Londo that leads to the boss gate, continue along the pathway to find the Estus Shard in a chest located in the corner of the hall where the Dark Souls 3 enemies drop from the ceiling.
• Estus Shard 9 (Irithyll Dungeon): Follow the path briefly leading out of the dungeon into the Giant’s Cell. Defeat the Mimic Chest to get the Estus Shard.
• Estus Shard 10 (Consumed King’s Garden): Take the elevator down to the garden, and jump halfway onto the balcony over the garden. Continue along the right side to find the Estus Shard.
• Estus Shard 11 (Grand Archives): At the roof of the archives, turn around and climb the staircase, then continue past three Golden-Winged Knights to the far side of the roof to find the final Estus Shard in Dark Souls 3.
