Darkseid was last seen in Infinite Frontier #0, where he murdered the watcher’s of the Multiverse, the Quintessence, when they checked in on him on Earth Omega. Darkseid’s whereabouts after escaping the imprisonment have been unknown, but with the cosmic monster on the lose, the entire Multiverse is in trouble. Infinite Frontier #5 is teasing the return of Darkseid. According to solicits, Roy Harper and Jade are going to have to trust each other as they will be be going head-to-head with Darkseid. The issue also teases the mysterious Omega Planet – which given the name, is likely connected to the DC supervillain. Infinite Frontier #5 is by Williamson, Xermanico, Paul Pelletier, Jesus Marino, with covers from Mitch Gerads and Bryan Hitch.

Barry Allen will need to call in the heroes exploring the new DC Multiverse to investigate the Omega Planet. Is the planet Darkseid’s new stomping grounds? Has he created another version of Apokolips, but somehow worse? Darkseid has been missing in action long enough that it’s going to be very interesting to see what he was cooking up whle he was gone.

With all the rebirth and changes in the DC Universe, there’s still little indication to what Darkseid’s role is. It’s likely he wants to continue to seek power and find the Anti-Life Equation, assuming it’s still out there. The Justice Incarnate, specfically Roy Harper and Jade, are about to find out what Darkseid has been up to this entire time. It appears another crisis is imininent. Infinite Frontier #5 by DC Comics is in comic book stores on August 24.
